My intertherm central ac is running short cycles

It most likely mean that the condenser needs to be cleaned up.
At hardware stores and A/C shops, they sell a cleaner for it, get the ECO frienly version. Instruccions are in the bottle.

If condenser looks clean, (that you can see thru it), then check fan motor, it could be going bad not giving the right RPMs. When this happens, it overheats.

If the condenser can't get rid of the heat the evaporator picks up, the compressor overheats and the thermal proteccion device kicks in to protect it from getting damaged..

Central air unit condenser fan overheats and shuts the unit outside.

replace the capacitor first but most likely the windings in the fan motor are burning up if there is a oil port on the motor add some but i think you will just need to replace motor hope this helps

Dayton 1/2 hp dual voltage motor overheats (mtr #6k79). Replaced original motor with same motor overheats in 10 -30 minutes. White lead to #4 terminal, black lead to #1 terminal, ground to casing.

Wiring would be for low voltage 1-3, 4-2. L1 feeds 1-3 and L2 feeds
4-2. For high voltage L1 feeds 1 and L2 feeds 4 with the 2-3 terminals linked by wire or bus bar.
