My printer won't stop printing - Printers & Copiers

Posted by on

  • aften Mar 11, 2009

My HP 1020 repeatedly printed a 10 page document and the print queue was blanked out. A reboot and the print queue reveled the document and when it was canceled all was right with the printer (I was going to say all was right with the world but that was ascribing more power to the solution than was needed). All was again right with my world, however. Thank you.

There is something in the print queue. Shutdown both the printer and the computer. Then turn the computer on and go to the Control Panel>printer> double click on your printer icon, and delete any documents that are there. Afterward turn your printer on. This should clear the queue.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

Please try this approach instead:

1. Browse to Start -> Run... and type in NET STOP SPOOLER (this will stop the print spooler service)

2. Browse to your windows\system32\spool\PRINTERS\ folder. You should see files there ending in .SPL and .SHD created around the time you tried to print - delete these files.

3. Browse to Start -> Run... and type in NET START SPOOLER (this will restart the print spooler service)

4. Double click the printer icon in the lower-right corner of your taskbar to examine your print job queue and browse to View -> Refresh.

I hope this information has been helpful.

No magenta ink, just need to print in black but won't let me.

Hello.
Hold down the Stop/Reset Button (it has a red triangle on it) on your printer for 10 to 15 seconds until the light stops flashing.
This will disable the ink level monitoring for the empty cartridge, but be careful not to print with a completely empty cartridge, as this can burn out the print head.

Printer won't print. I went to printer and it says there are 9 items to br pringted in queue but they won't print Printer says it is ready

Good Day Nanawhit!

That happens all the times when first print job encounter a problem and stops printing and it was followed by series of print jobs. Some reasons for stop printing could be a printer out of paper and printer not set as default printer.

The best way to fix it is to cancel all pending jobs. When print jobs window is cleared off pending print jobs, restart your PC and your printer. Then go to your printer and make sure it is the default printer.

After that try printing a test page. Once a test page is successful, you can now print as many as you want.

Can't cancel a HP PSC 750 Printer print job.

Hi,
Right click on MyComputer and click Manage. Then go to Services and Applications and then Services. Find the Print Spooler services in the list and right click to stop it. When it is stopped try to cancel the document again. Then start the print spooler service again.
