Usually if you install the desktop toolbox software for your printer it will have a utility that will show the ink levels. If you are using refilled cartridges that may or may not be accurate.

Make sure all Power an Data leads connecting to your printer have dust free secure seating.
You might have to uninstall the printer restart your computer then reinstall your printer.
Click start control panel administrative tools computer management device manager scroll to ports(COM&LPT) + to expand you should see a communication port and Ecp printer port you
might see a yellow? ! question exclamation mark or a red X this will mean you need to install a new driver for this device right click to update driver.

Hi. That error pops up when you're using an installation cd that runs on Microsoft .Net Framework Version 2. Unfortunately, Windows 7 doesn't have that. Make sure you don't have the Lexmark installation cd in the computer. Eject the installation cd from the computer. Restart the computer and check if problem still persists. But if there's no cd in the computer and you have tried installing the software using the cd the first time, uninstall the Lexmark software by going to Start Menu > Programs > Lexmark 6600 Series folder > Tools > Uninstall. Reboot pc. Reinstall, this time, using the same installer you downloaded from the Lexmark website only. Don't use the installation cd. Hope this fixes your problem.
