a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

I have a ESX500 Gateway desktop. Power supply is bad. How do I look to find which power supply it is I need?
take a look and see if this is teh model and if it is are lucky ...cause it uses a normal power source what you have to do is just buy a new one or a second hand one ..and install it ..make sure it has enough power so ..take a look on yours..and on the sticker it is mentioned the maximum power ...for ex 300 w ..or 450 ...The best to get a similar one ..or higher ...cause this may be the cause for failure..if you upgraded some of the devices and the power source was too small for them ..
try a 450 w one ..Anyway ..the format of the source is classic ..and will fit like a charm ..
If you buy it from the internet attention to be compatible with the US voltage ...cause most of European countries uses 220V and if it has no switch for 120 V it may be a issue ..

HP PAVILION A 1520N pc DESK TOP does not turn on when power button pressed. has power to end of cord. Power button does not light up. little green light on back by power source blinking green

Bad Power supply. Look on the side of your current power supply and find the wattage rating, and buy one of the same rating or higher. Some place like newegg.

Need a new Iso-350

Please clarify? tennis rocket? industrial standard? switching power supply? safety glass panel? all of these are ISO-350...

I assume that you need new computer power supply, as this is just standard 350W switching power supply, this can be repalced by virtually any availbale on the market power supply as long as it is of same or greater value. Nobody is actually manufacturing 350W power supply, I would suggest any available computer power supply will do fine to replace that one.

Size of the power supply is standard, therefore it is irrelevant how many watt is your output as long as it is greater than 350W.

You can find abundance of 400W power supplies on e-bay in price from $0.99 + postage. Your local computer store will have them in stock, if you have access to second-hand computer, you can remove power from it and replace as well.

Hope this help solve your problem.

I beleive the power supply is bad, can i use a power supply from an optiplex GX 260

the later dells are interchangeable as far as voltages. the 3000 may have SATA connections and the 260 does not, so you may need to buy adapters, although for the money I would buy a new powersupply from a company like Rosewill. .You don't need much, 200- 350 watt would be fine, It should run you around $25. Stay away from powmax and the other sub $20 supplies. Take a look at the connectors and you'll know what you need. a 20 pin connector, with at least 2 SATA, and 2 Molex connectors, and the P4 plug.

Computer won't start The voltage switch on the power supply was accidently changed to 230. Is it fixable

Most likely not, the power source is dead, replace it. It's a standard ATX source, any 400W one you can buy from all IT shop will do.

I that the caps are bad on the motherboard. They are probably puffy and not flat like they should be.

Why we starting using OSI model

He probably needs an answer to the topic question for his studies.

ANSWER: The reason we started using it was to enable network communication between the various networking hardware products of various producers without it mattering which one was produced by who and on what platform. This is possible because the OSI model is a standardisation (ISO 7498-1) which lists the various functions provided by different network protocols into layers on top of each other in a way that the layers above each other can only use functions provided by a sub-layer and can only provide functions for a superior layer. The model clearly specifys how one layer can interact with the other. (this by the way is what we call RFC -- Request for Comments) This way a software of the layer written by one producer could cooperate/communicate with the software of a layer written by a different producer even on two different platforms.

Please rate if this solution helped you.

What is osi model

The 7 Layers of the OSI Model
Last updated: March 03, 2008
The OSI, or Open System Interconnection, model defines a networking framework for implementing protocols in seven layers. Control is passed from one layer to the next, starting at the application layer in one station, proceeding to the bottom layer, over the channel to the next station and back up the hierarchy.
(Layer 7)
This layer supports application and end-user processes. Communication partners are identified, quality of service is identified, user authentication and privacy are considered, and any constraints on data syntax are identified. Everything at this layer is application-specific. This layer provides application services for file transfers, e-mail, and other network software services. Telnet and FTP are applications that exist entirely in the application level. Tiered application architectures are part of this layer.
(Layer 6)
This layer provides independence from differences in data representation (e.g., encryption) by translating from application to network format, and vice versa. The presentation layer works to transform data into the form that the application layer can accept. This layer formats and encrypts data to be sent across a network, providing freedom from compatibility problems. It is sometimes called the syntax layer.
(Layer 5)
This layer establishes, manages and terminates connections between applications. The session layer sets up, coordinates, and terminates conversations, exchanges, and dialogues between the applications at each end. It deals with session and connection coordination.
(Layer 4)
This layer provides transparent transfer of data between end systems, or hosts, and is responsible for end-to-end error recovery and flow control. It ensures complete data transfer.
(Layer 3)
This layer provides switching and routing technologies, creating logical paths, known as virtual circuits, for transmitting data from node to node. Routing and forwarding are functions of this layer, as well as addressing, internetworking, error handling, congestion control and packet sequencing.
Data Link
(Layer 2)
At this layer, data packets are encoded and decoded into bits. It furnishes transmission protocol knowledge and management and handles errors in the physical layer, flow control and frame synchronization. The data link layer is divided into two sub layers: The Media Access Control (MAC) layer and the Logical Link Control (LLC) layer. The MAC sub layer controls how a computer on the network gains access to the data and permission to transmit it. The LLC layer controls frame synchronization, flow control and error checking.
(Layer 1)
This layer conveys the bit stream - electrical impulse, light or radio signal -- through the network at the electrical and mechanical level. It provides the hardware means of sending and receiving data on a carrier, including defining cables, cards and physical aspects. Fast Ethernet, RS232, and ATM are protocols with physical layer components.

Most likely failure point if the system doesn't power on at all, (No leds, no fans, no noise) is the power supply.

You can buy a standard ATX power supply for around $30
