Re: Xerox F12 FAx Machine
You will have to perform a memory clear . Here are the steps, but after doing this you will have to re enter the fax ID and phone number, also you will have to reset the power save mode to where ever it is now.
Here ya go.
The Clear System Data Memory option restores all the user-selectable options to the factory defaults.
Press the [Menu / Exit] button on the Control Panel.
Press the [Up] or [Down] arrow button repeatedly to select [Memory Clear].
Press the [Enter] button.
Press the [Left] or [Right] arrow button to select [Machine Setup].
Press the [Enter] button.
Press the [Left] or [Right] arrow button to select the required option: [Yes] or [No].
Press the [Enter] button.
Press the [Menu / Exit] button to return to the previous menu.
Press the [Stop / Clear] button to return to the Standby mode.

Try to Initialize the Spool Disk:
NOTE: Initializing the spool disk will delete all jobs in all queues. This procedure can be used when a corrupt job has caused the printer to stop printing. This procedure can also be used to correct certain machine faults.
Press the ON / OFF switch. The power switch is located on the front right side of the machine under the Control Panel.
Wait until the Touch Screen goes blank (this may take several minutes).
CAUTION: Make sure to press the correct buttons all at the same time. An incorrect button combination may delete all customized printer settings.
Press and hold down the button on the numeric keypad, the [Energy Saver] and the [Stop] buttons simultaneously while powering ON the machine. Continue to hold down the three buttons until the Touch Screen displays several lines, goes blank and then displays lines again.
Release the buttons. The machine will continue its normal boot up procedure to initialize the spool disk.
Solution : Power OFF the Printer, Wait 45 Seconds, Then Power ONCAUTION: If the machine is powered OFF / powered ON, all information that is stored in the machine's memory may be erased. NOTE: Before powering OFF, make sure that all copy or print jobs have completely finished. Never power OFF in the following instances:
While data is being received.
While jobs are being printed.
While jobs are being copied.
While a scan is being executed.
Power OFF the machine. The power switch is located on the front right side of the machine under the Control Panel.
NOTE: Before the machine is powered ON again make sure the Touch Screen is blank.
Power ON the machine.
NOTE: When the power is ON, a 'Please wait...' message will be displayed. This message indicates that the machine is warming up and cannot be used. After 45 seconds, the machine becomes ready for use.
If the issue is not resolved repeat steps 1 and 2 a second time.
If this machine has memory boards on the back, turn off the machine and take the boards out.
turn on the machine, and reinsert the memory boards.
Sometimes these boards lock up the machine.
If this does not work, the fuser may be the problem.
Press the power switch to the OFF (O) position. The power switch is located on the lower, left side of the machine.
Pull the scan lock switch toward the front of the machine to unlock the Scanner.
NOTE: The scan lock switch is located on the bottom of the Scanner Module. Make sure the scan lock is completely free. It sometimes hangs at the halfway point.
Press the power switch to the ON (|) position. A 'Warming Up, Please Wait' message will be displayed on the Display Screen. Warm up time is less than 40 seconds from power ON and less than 25 seconds from the Power Saver mode.
Make sure the line has a dial tone with a regular old 20th century analog phone plugged into the FAx line. Once that's verified, unplug FAX line from printer. Unplug Printer power. Wait 60 seconds. Insert FAX line again. Plug in printer. As it warms up, keep hitting CLEAR ALL and STOP buttons to skip the status page printing.
If that doesn't work, turn off printer and then hold CLEAR ALL and STOP buttons (at the same time) while turning on printer. Once the display gets into the calibration mode, keep tapping those two buttons. This should free you to get to the menu.
Do NOT pay the $360 XEROX wants to fix this common glitch on this poorly-designed printer. This is not a serious problem in 90% of the cases, but a glitch in the software that runs the printer.
what you want to do is this, turn the machine off. Remove the back cover. Then on the main board you should see a memory stick or 2 depending on the model. Remove the memory sticks, then power up the machine with them out. Let it come to ready, then re install the memory sticks and power the machine back up to remove any software corruption.
