Help Scaner problem

By Odud - usenet poster

I have a dimage scan muti with the muti2 software, the same thing happens
when I use the muti1 software.

I am running windows 2000, when I scan at less than the maximum dpi using
twain or the multi2 standalone I get a jumbled picture when I open the file
or when it scans into photoshop.

By jumbled I mean it looks like your TV when the hotizontal is twisted.

When I scan at the max resolution, the scans are fine.
The prescans are also fine, it only happens on the final scan.

I downloaded vuescan and that works fine at all resolutions

Can anyone help me? I have tried everthing from changing the scsi cable to
changing the slot of the scsi card to sending it back to Minolta. That is
why I am pretty confident it is the dimage software and the way it somehow
is acting with windows 2000 or my video card
ATI all in one wonder 128 pro AGP.

BTW Minolta said they couldnt help me.

Thanks,

Mark

Sorry Mate,
not much more other than the standard help desk response of have you
reloaded windows etc (which rarely works, but gets you off their back
for a while!) As you can guess, I hate rebooting. (Then why did I use
windows?)

I'd probably put up with scanning at max resolution, and cutting the image
in Photoshop etc., but this takes time.

Also, have a look at my post to "Cools LS-10E 5/9/2001 10:25pm" (if your
using Outlook Express, just click the from button while this message is
displayed, it should be close by.)
Hope this helps,
Peter

Thanks for the reply,

No, I am not using an od submultiple, I am choosing one of the resolutions
that is on the dropdown list in the Minolta scanner software. Vuescan which
works, has the same resolutions. Any other ideas ?

Thank You,

Mark

Are you using an odd submultiple of the maximum resolution?

It could be the software resampling the image to fit the resolution rather
than taking every second or fourth sensor on the scanhead like when you use
half or one quarter resolution.

Hope this helps,
Peter
