Question about Canon PIXMA Office Equipment & Supplies

Open Question

I have a Canon Pixma MP220 into which I have placed refilled cartridges. For some reason it will not allow me to print with them. I have obtained instructions regarding Canon PG40/51,CL41/51 How to install refilled cartridges. Having followed these instructions through,I arrived at the error message " The following ink may have run out Color". My screen does not include the "OK" option, only "Cancel printing" and "About ink". The printer then refuses to do anything. On the printer the message "The remaining levels of color ink cannot be correctly detected". Can you please help?

SOURCE: Refilling Ink in Canon Pixma MP830

Hello, I found this in a repair manual for the MP830. summery is to press and hold the stop/reset button for 5 or more seconds. I copied the info from the manual too. The remaining ink amount unknown. [1683] (Applicable ink tank icon) The remaining level of the following ink cannot be correctly detected. An ink tank which has once been empty is installed. Replace the applicable ink tank with a new one. Printing with a once-empty or refilled ink tank can damage the print head. If printing is continued without replacing the refilled ink tank, press the Stop/Reset button for 5 sec. or longer to record the use of a refilled ink tank. Note: After the above operation, the function to detect the remaining ink amount is disabled.

Please how can i refill a canon printer's cartridge (canon pixma ip2600), without the ink pouring out through the other end

1

Place the empty PG-30 cartridge on a layer of paper towels on a flat surface.
2

Use the thumb screwdriver to enlarge the small refill hole just below the letter "B" on the top of the cartridge.
3

Fill the syringe with 20 ml. of black printer ink.
4

Slowly insert the syringe into the refill hole that you drilled and release the contents of the syringe.
5

Allow the cartridge to sit upright for 4 hours before inserting into the printer.

Easy!

Those cartridges don't refill unless you have a way to reset the internal chip. Check online for refillable cartridges or a chip resetter. For priming you go into printer properties and choose maintenance and head cleaning, or choose cleaning from the front panel.

My Canon Pixma MP220 is has an error code U051 Chk Ink Blk Col, but i have just refilled my ink cartridges

Same thing happened to my MP220. U051 chk Blk and Colour. I got my colour one replaced as there was an electrical fault in it. So the solution is to replace whichever one has the electrical fault or both and it works just fine. Refilling only works for a certain number of times. 4 or 5 at most and mine only lasted 1, so not always successful.

Not print and not scann without colour cartridge

All cartridges must be present before the printer will operate. Essentially black is obtained by printing all colours together. Some makes/models of printer will allow black printing only for text printing. This is a printer 'PROPERTIES' function and you will have to seek this out by reading the manual fully.
