Open Question

NMEA features of Raymarine marine DSC polling radios

We are developing a tracking system for small recreational boats that will provide latitude, longitude, COG, SOG, and boat name (MMSI number)...Please let me know if your marine DSC polling radios support NMEA sentences that provide COG, SOG, and boat name, in addition to latitude and longitude. If so, what are the model numbers ? Thank you in advance for this information.

SOURCE: how to reset mmsi number Raymarine 215

This secret code is for the Raytheon / Raymarine RAY 220 VHF. It may work on other Raytheon/Raymarine radios also.

Here you go:

With the Power OFF, Press and HOLD the FUNC, 16/9 and DSC keys while you power ON. Do not release the keys until you hear the audio BEEP which means your done. Then reprogam your NMSI number as per the manual. Pretty easy, hey?

What colours do i use to link my 128 with my dsc radio

Hi!

From your Owners manual (Page 59) The BLUE wire (Pin 3 NMEA out) from your GPS goes to the NMEA in wire of your DSC radio. The ground pin from your GPS is pin 2 (Black)

Just in case you've misplaced your manual, here's the link you need.

Hope this helps and Happy Boating!

My plotter seems not to output NMEA to my DSC radio and auto helm

Your plotter can talk to you Radio and your pilot. It sounds like one of two things. You must go into the system setup menu and turn on the nmea sentances. You will need to turn on RMB, RMC, GGl at least. You can turn on all the sentances if you like it does not matter. If this does not fix, check color of wiring is correct. Remember you have to go from NMEA + out (on plotter) to NMEA + IN on Radio. Then you need NMEA - out(on Plotter) to NMEA - IN on Radio.
You can look at the sentances wirth a multi meter coming out of your plotter. You put meter in DCV and connect across the NMEA out lines. You will see the meter move every second or so as it send a sentance.

Raymarine st8002 wired to furuno

The st8002 is not compatble with rs232 data. You need to supply it with nmea 0183 data. You will need to wire it to the "NMEA port IN" on the pilot to NMEA out on your Furuno and turn on the mnea sentances "out" on your Furuno. You will need to turn on at least the following sentances GGA GLL RMB RMC.Hope that helps.

Installation raymarine st6002

The power cable of your 2106 acts as a data cable also. You should find additional unused wires on the cable. Locate the brown and blue wires. You will need to connect the brown wire to the "NMEA OUT +" terminal on the autopilot course computer and connect the blue wire to the "NMEA IN +" terminal on the course computer. Finally, connect the "NMEA OUT -" and the "NMEA IN -" to ground (preferably the same place that the Garmin is grounded (black wire). Be sure that the Garmin interface is set up for NMEA In / NMEA Out. That should get you going!

Raymarine Ray 240 usa model

You cannot just reprogram your Raymarine to european standard.

This radio has been built and is licenced for using with USA frequency, in Europe his use will be limited to lower bands with no modification.

To be fully adapted to higher bands, the radio must be taken apart, and you need to bridge a contact on the main board.

The use of the radio after modifacion won't be legal in Europe.
