The clicking noise can mean that you have a bad hard drive. Look around for local place that repairs or replaces hard drive. Ipod store charge $271 for rebuilt 60 gig. It is cheaper to buy a new 120 gb one for $250. I found a place that put new hard drive in for $150.

I would reformat the hard drive, then if it shows up in a folder under windows folders, click on ipod folder and right click and then click on properties. Then choose tab that says tools and then choose error checking and then defrag. Then use winamp to synchronize your music, if that doesn't work, you may need new hard drive.

Ipod Touch wont turn on

Your iPod has been working fine and all of a sudden it won't turn on. Not sure why? Before you rush to your nearest Apple store, try these easy-to-use, at-home solutions for fixing your iPod.

Check the Hold switch to see if it is off. Located on the top or the bottom of the iPod, when it is in the "on" position you will see an orange patch of color. Slide the switch until the orange coloring disappears. Try to turn on the iPod. Make sure the battery is fully charged by connecting your iPod to your computer's built-in FireWire or USB port or into an electrical outlet using your Apple iPod power adapter. Note: iPods without a click wheel cannot be charged using a USB port. After your battery is fully charged, try to turn on the iPod. Reset your iPod. iPod Shuffle: Disconnect iPod Shuffle from the computer if connected. Move the power switch to the off position. Wait five seconds. Move the switch to the play in order or the shuffle position. iPod Touch: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together for at least 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears. iPod Nano (all generations), iPod Classic, iPod Mini: Turn the Hold switch on and off. Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons at the same time until the Apple logo appears, making sure to not touch any part of the click wheel. This should take about six to eight seconds and may need to be repeated. If your iPod still won't turn on, check the following: Make sure the iPod is the only device in your FireWire or USB chain. Disconnect everything but the mouse, keyboard and iPod, and try again. Double check that you are using the FireWire or USB cable that came with your iPod, and that it is in good condition. Try the built-in port of a different computer.

My iTouch 4th gen will not turn on anymore. I attempted to jailbreak using greenpois0n and it seems like everything was fine and then when the screen showed the boot logo it just shut off and would not do...

Restore mode is different from DFU mode (CLICK HERE to learn more). You must connect your iPod touch to your PC again and do these steps to put it to DFU mode:
  1. Plug/connect your device to a computer (PC or Mac)
  2. Turn it OFF
  3. Press and hold the POWER and HOME buttons together for EXACTLY 10seconds
  4. Release the POWER button but keep holding the HOME button until the computer beeps indicating that a USB device is recognized.
  5. Re-do the jailbreak.
To make sure that you do things right, I recommend you read my tip: http://www.fixya.com/support/r8764632-jailbreak_ios_4_2_1_all_idevices_iphone

I can,t figure out how to disconect my ipod from

just pull out the cable from your ipod connector or from your computer, you can also use itunes to disconnect your ipod, click on your ipod in Itunes, you will see an arrow next to your ipod name on the left side of itunes where it displays MUSIC, RADIO,PODCAST etc. click on that arrow and your ipod will be disconnected from itunes.

Try it, I wrote it for a Itouch / iphone generally but basicly if its a driver issue that should solve it.

If not, can you post me the status of the ipod from the device manager?

I Touch won't connect to wireless router

first off, make sure you have wifi enabled in your settings. if that doesnt work hold the home and sleep buttons untill your ipod shuts off and turn it back on. sometimes i do this when something is glitching on my ipod. check to make sure your your pass word is correct too.

p.s. if you are really desperate, hold your home andsleep button untill your ipod shuts off, then continue to hold untill your ipod reboots. once it starts to turn on, just keep holding down the home button and NOT the sleep button anymore. a screen should pop telling you to connect to itunes. your computer will detect it in recovery mode and you can continue to restore on your computer. you can restore it that way or just do it by hitting the restore button in itunes :)
