First you should make shure there are drivers for Win XP in the Toshiba site. Some other brands do not provide them.

    A105 is a generic model.

On the bottom of the notebook is more details, what are the numbers after A105.

Need to know the specific model because they change parts around.

I have to a few of these a month.

1st resolve yourself that not ALL drivers are neccessarily going to be available, manufacturers are not supporting XP for everything these days.

The consider investing a few dollars in one of the programs like driver detective or similar to help you hunt down the missing drivers.

Also there is a utlity called "Unknown Device Identifier" that can help by identifying the devices by their chipsets. Then try looking at other manufacturers sites like Packard Bell in Europe where Vista doesn't have the stranglehold it has here in the US.

Good Luck it's a tough job

Hay! my laptop is toshiba satellite A135 s4527 home vista. but i run my laptop with oprating system windows XP2. how it possible. please help me

Hello and welcome to fixya.

In your case, im assuming you refer to the "Vista sticker" that is on the laptop. If a computer is vista-compatible this doesn't mean that it is not able to run older Operating Systems (such as Windows XP SP2) as well.

The sticker on the laptop just referes to the type of Operating System that came pre-installed with it. Now if you bought the laptop and asked your salesman for a DOWNGRADE TO XP Operating System or if this is what he understood then it will probably come with Windows XP instead of Vista Home.

This also applies if you are working for a company in which case the company's IT Department will decide what type of Operating System is to be installed on this computer.

Overall: Newer computers/laptop models that support Windows Vista can also run Windows XP

ALSO: Check for the OEM sticker in the back of the laptop or bottom (it looks like THIS for XP or THIS for windows vista Home Premium). This determines whether you can use a vista DVD to upgrade your computer later from XP to Vista.

If you have any more questions just let me know.

Thanks

Windows os

Its true. the Bios or HDD driver wont allow you to install Win XP on it.. This BIOS is compatible with only Win Vista. The only easy way to do it is by creating 2 partitions while installing vista. once vista is installed- install XP with Dual boot and than format the vista partition.

Back to get the original vista version

Well, with any amount of luck, when you installed xp you didn't erase the recovery partition. Just boot into the recovery partition. Some laptops will let you have that option on a regular boot.

Of course, if you have the vista cd, just boot with that. You can download a free vista recovery cd here:
http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/

If that doesn't work, try to download easyBCD and hope that your vista partition shows up in xp:

Softwares pre installed are not responding

From lenovo side no SQL server and .Net programes are given and might be they are loaded by your dealer.Secondaly you might be using vista home basic or home premium for the same and on both the OS neither SQL server nor .Net is supported so either you will have to use xp prof or vista business to use the both.

Cd product

There is no way to legally get the product key for Windows XP without buying a copy of Windows XP.

Also, if you have Vista Home Premium or Basic, you will have to do a fresh install of XP, only Vista Business and Ultimate allow for downgrading.

Here is an article about downgrading to XP from Vista:
