Question about JVC Everio GZ-HD7 Camcorder
Hello, the disc that came with camcorder everio GZ HD7 is not compatable with Mac OS 10.5 . When i plug in USB no programs( istop animation, imovies ,FCS) can see the camera. if it is becouse of driver how do i get it. cheers Brett
Hey Brett, unfortunately FCP and iMovie are looking for a device over Firewire or a capture card (whichever you have set up). The driver off of the disk is actually quite useless under any Mac Os 10. Video editing programs unless older or PC based rarely use USB for video transfer hence why none of the apps are locating the camera. Unfortunately you'll have to transfer the files via USB as data and use a program like MPEGStreamclip to transcode them to a file format those programs will understand. JVC has released updated software but it seems to do nothing at all. I hope this helps.
P.S. you may need the MPEG 2 Codec to do the conversions wether you're using MPEGStreamclip or another application.
