It sounds as if the cable is wired in. It is unusual for there to be a plug in at the dishwasher end. Have you traced the line to where it enters the dishwasher? Be careful this line will be live. You may need to have it disconnected at the wall outlet.

How to remove and replace dishwasher?

Turn off the circuit breaker for the dishwasher power and shutoff the hot water supply (usually located under the sink). Next take off the lower bottom front cover to access the electrical connection and water supply line. Remove the cover to the electrical connection and disconnect the wiring. Pull the supply wire out of the connection box. Next loosen the connection for the water supply line. Have a towel handy to soak up the residual in the water line. Disconnect the drain hose from under the sink. It is either connected to the garbage or to a tee above the sink drain trap. Loosen the clamp and remove the drain hose. Again you'll need that towel to soak up the water from the drain hose.
Most dish washer are attached to the bottom of the counter top above the top of the d/w door with screws. Remove these screws. You may also need to loosen the leveling feet located on the bottom of the d/w at the front in order to pull it out.
Now you can remove the D/W from under the counter top.
Be sure to keep the drain hose on top of the D/W while pulling it out to keep the residual water from draining onto the floor.
Be sure to secure the electric supply wire with wire connectors after the D/W is removed for safety. Also cover the drain connection at the sink or disposal with duct tape to prevent sink water draining into the bottom of the sink cabinet.

I have a Maytag DWU9200AAX dishwasher and it needs to be replaced. I tried pulling it out to check whether it is electrically hard wired or plugged in. I was able to get it out only 6 inches and now it...

I would anticipate it is hard wired, most older machines are. the power wire comes to a box, usually near the right front of the under unit area.
In order to remove the machine: Unscrew supports from the counter underside. TURN OFF POWER, disconnect the wires from the j box on the machine, turn off the water, and relieve the pressure, and disconnect the hose, often at the left front area of the machine. Release the drain hose from where it connects to the sink drain. Feed hoses as you pull the machine.

I need to uninstall my maytag dishwasher model DWU4910AAX. It is built into the wall. Cannot figure out where to detach from wall.

There are 2 screws at the top of the dishwasher above the door you will have to unscrew them, but you will also have to disconnect the water line, electrical line and drain line witch are all under the dishwasher behind the kick panel, witch has 4 screws to remove.

Kenmore Model 16798 dishwasher: no incoming water throughout entire cycle

Hello there
The solenoid is just a valve. Only it operates electrically.

Check to be sure you are getting water to the valve. Turn off water,
disconnect water supply from solenoid valve, place line in bucket, turn on
water slowly.

Does water come out?

If yes, then reconnect water and check other side of valve. Disconnect
connection on other side of solenoid valve. Does water come out when you
cycle dishwasher?

Could be a problem with plugged water tubes. All sorts of junk comes out of
water lines.

Also if you have a manual valve on the wall for line going to dishwasher,
the line could be plugged at this valve. Turning it off/on several times or
backflushing might clear the plug.

How do I find and remove the water inlet valve in a Maytag MDB-9 dishwasher?

CLICK HERE for a representation of the part in question.
CLICK HERE for an expanded parts diagram (#1)

1. Shut off the water and remove the lower access/kick panels.
2. Then disconnect the two wires from the inlet valve terminals - note which one goes to which terminal
3. Using an open end wrench loosen and disconnect the water supply line.
4. Remove the two screws securing the valve assembly to the inside wall of the dishwasher
5. Loosen the clamp on the water outlet line and slide off the hose.

Installation is pretty much the same in reverse.
Sometimes the valve assembly comes with the wire terminals oriented in a different direction than what you may find when you take yours off. If it won't work for you, remove the four screws that hold the electrical side of the inlet valve and rotate it to the needed position.
Make sure when putting it back together that you tighten the screws evenly to prevent leaks.

check where the pig tail the plug going into the wall follow the plug wire to the connection at the dishwasher. You will need to remove the bottom panel of the dishwasher at the floor. This access panel allows you to see the underneath of the dishwasher. Where the plug wire (pig tail) connects to the dishwasher it is in a small square box on either the right side or left at the front of the dishwasher. Unplug your washer and remove the cover off of this box and check to see if the connections are indeed connected.

Hope this helped

most inlet valves are near the front of the washer. The kick panel at the front of the dishwasher should have several screws holding it, take those out ant the kick plate should come off where you can get to the valve. Look under the sink cabinet and you should see two vertical water lines and one horizontal line. The one horizontal line runs through the side of the cabinet to the dishwasher it should have a shut off valve on it close the valve and that will cut off the water going to the dishwasher. Have several towels ready because there will be water left in the line. Either unplug the dishwasher or turn off the breaker for the dishwasher before working on the valve Place a towel around the area of the inlet valve and disconnect the line coming to the valve. Should be a couple of screws holding the valve to the washer. Disconnect the electrical connections and remember where they go. Take valve out and reverse the procedure for installation.

Almost new dishwasher. Lights come on but pump doesn't start

You have some debris in the little pump that pumps the water out of the dishwasher. To get at the pump you will remove the lower front panel and follow the drain line down toward the floor. there u will see that the drain line is connected to a small pump. disconnect the drain line and remvove the two screws that hold the pump to the frame. look in the pump and you will see your problem debris [often a chunk of glass or bone] Remove it and put everything back to gether and you will be back in business.

Kithchen aid dishwasher model KUD101FLS spring on door broken. How do I access it?

Take the bottom panel off so you can see the side of the dishwasher at the botom.

You will have to pull the dishwasher at least half way out to replace the door spring.

Depends on the water connection, drain, and electrical.

Sometimes this can be done by just removing the screws at the top which holds the dishwasher to the counter top, adjusting the front legs all the way up and pulling it out.

Water connection
If you have a flexable water line that is long enough, if not, the water will have to be shut off and the line disconnected.

The drain hose will have to be disconnected from under the sink if there is not enough slack to pull it out half way.

Same here, not enough slack then you have to disconnect.

I need to unplug and move a built-in Maytag dishwasher

Follow these steps:

1. Locate the electrical service breaker for your appliance and turn it off at the breaker panel. If it is plugged in by a serivce outlet, unplug the unit.
2. Turn off the water source under the sink.
3. Disconnect the drain line under the sink.
4. Remove the lower panel under the dishwasher door.
5. Locate the small electrical junction box under the dishwasher and disconnect the wires leads. Remember, standard household wiring is as follows: BLACK (HOT - 110-120VAC), WHITE (NEUTRAL - 0VAC, GREEN (or bare copper) is GROUND. Make sure you reconnect the wires in this fashion with wire lug nuts. If you have a local outlet plug you may leave the wiring instact.
6. Locate the fill valve (Usually on the left hand side of the dishwasher). This is where the water supply line connects. Disconnect the water supply line from the fill valve.
7. The dishwasher should have a couple of mounting screws located where the top of the dishwasher cabinet meets the underside of the cabinet.
8. With everything removed, the dishwasher should now be free and slide out from under the cabinet.

Let me know if you have further questions. I hope this helps you.

NOTE: You can also remove the water supply line at the fitting under the sink if it makes things easier.
