Question about 2wire (1000-000057-000) Modem
[ Older Compaq Presario, running Windows XP.]
I have an At&t 2wire modem that was working great. My nephew got a virus through Myspace or gaming that I ran McAfee Stinger on to get rid of. (I also had to install new windows updates), since then, my pc can't see my modem!
I can find the modem folders, but it is not showing up as installed, when I try to reinstall it, it gets hung and dumps us off. I didn't want to totally dump it because the wireless IS working and my laptop is the only working link to the outside world--lol. Any suggestions? I even did a system retore, but still have the same problem. Thanks so much!!!
No. Only by pressing the RESET button for too long (31 sec. and up) can wipe out your modem. This will fry your precious modem. :)
