95% + CPU usage when realplayer version 11.0.5

My office pc is Intel (R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.40 GHz 2.43 GHz,504MB of RAM with Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 2. PC is having 4 partions C,D,E Total size is 18.5GB and F 18.8GB .Out of which C has 7.79 GB free,D 16.7 GB free,E16.1 GB free,F 18.7 GB free
My pc kept on hanging and i had to restart but of late i keep ipaddress and default gateway pinging continiously and windows task manager also open and minimised so it has stoped freezing but when i start real player gradually after few minutes it takes up more then 90 to 95 % of CPU usage .I have also deleted by going in regedit EVNTSVC.EXE and renamed REALSCHED.EXE to REALSCHED.OLD but still Realplay.exe is taking up excessive 90-95 %cpu usage

    I have the same problem. I didn't have this problem before so I think it may be a bug in the latest release. I had to uninstall it because it was slowing down my PC so much that I couldn't use my PC at all.

    real player using up 45% of CPU when not even on.

  • Anonymous Feb 28, 2009

    I think Microsoft is messing with real player, there's some bad history between the two companys. A recent windows service pack/update messed up my performance so bad that I uninstalled it. I'm starting to hate MS again.

Check the priority level of the program it maybe above normal rate you can set it in task manager then right-clicking on the realplayer.exe then you can see the priority submenu

Installing sound drivers

First, visit this website:

http://www.intel.com/design/motherbd/gc/gc_drive.htm

Next up select Windows XP Professional as your operating system. Now click, "Drivers." The first result should be the Realtek drivers, which are what you're searching for. Download them. Once they finished downloading open the file and the drivers should be installed automatically.

If there's anything else I can help you with, let me know. If this solution solved your problem, please rate the solution.

My pc is extremely slow, I have even formatted and instal a new version of Windows Xp service pack 2 to my PC pentium-3 with 256 RAM but there is still no change. Need some one to help me out.

slow pc is the cause of many problems.
1=firstly,use disk cleanup.
2=secondly,regularly defragment your hard disk.
3=thirdly,try to switch over to pentium 4 3.0 Ghz or intel core 2 duo.
4=at last,change your motherboard to ddr2 Ram supporting Board.

you can only change your an upgraded p-III processor like 1.0 GHz, 1.1 GHz or 1.3GHz and
upgrade the RAM by changing to 256 in each slot.

that is all what u can do with ur pc

Overlocked my Intel Pentium 4 3.00 Ghz

You have to go into your bios and see what your front side bus and memmory speeds are. If you overclock you cpu, sometimes you need to underclock your memmory. Say step your memmory down to 333mhz and overclock your front side bus(fsb).
Normally your fsb is 200 and only increase it by mhz. Restart, go into windows. and see if it is stable.

I always use cpu-z and gpu-z to check all of my hardware settings. I use ati tool to overclock my x1950 and it is great. There really isnt any good cpu overclocking tools because its better to do it in the bios.

Do a specific search in google for your processor and overclocking.
