Question about Canon Printers & Copiers

I have a MF7100 multifunction unit. I can not get it to connect to my PC as a scanner or to deliver. Any ideas?

    I have loaded the latest Vista driver but the problem still persists.

Unplug your scanner, uninstall the driver and restart your PC. Make sure that you got the right driver for the type or model of scanner you have. Reinstall the driver and restart your PC. Plug the scanner to USB port and your PC should start recognizing the scanner at this point.I had the same problem before with scanner. It started working only after doing this procedure.

    this type of problems if the
    digital imaging monitor is not running on the taskbar. Usually get
    no scan options error on the front panel of the all-in-one if try to
    scan from the all-in-one. Once try to scan from the HP Director and
    check for the results. If the issue persists even from the HP Director
    once reload the software and then try to scan. If you are using Vista, do not have full featured software, try to scan from paint
    application and then scan.

1)right click the my computer icon
2)click properties and then click hardware n go to device manager.
3)uninstall all usb ports and then scan for hardware changes
4)ur pc will detect your printer and ask for printer drivers
5)re load drivers and your pc will communicate with your printer
6)for reloding install the cd follow the instructions on the screen and click next
7)restart when the printer is loded.connect the wires and cords properly

First try a replacement USB cable, just in case.

Unplug printer usb cable.

Run again installer program from the CD that came with the printer.

Plug printer USB back, and restart the printer.

Must be directly connected, no USB hubs.

open device manager (right-click my computer icon & choose properties, click hardware tab on top, click device manager button)

locate the device, should go under Imaging Devices, if it doesn't show up - swap or change USB ports and USB cable. NO SCANNER UNDER IMAGING DEVICE, NO CONNECTION

once you got it, then use the installation cd to get the scanner driver to your computer or maybe it's already installed if you had used the driver cd before.

For add. clarification; what Operating System you are using right now... did you make sure that all connections are correct and the driver was properly installed on your unit..

Epson t13 wont turn on


Try to do a power cycle. Press and hold the power button for at least 50 seconds. After that, try to unplugged the power cord and wait for at least 20seconds to colden it. Plugged it to a different socket. After that, try to press the power button once. Hope it will fix your problem :)

Remove and Install the Printer Driver for your product:

DRIVER REMOVAL

1. Turn off the printer and disconnect the USB cable.

2. Click the Start button and select Programs or All Programs.

3. Locate and select Printer Software Uninstall.

4. Restart your computer !



INSTALLATION

1. Go to the support website.

2. Select your model and download the printer driver for your Windows operating system.

3. Double-click the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.

4. When prompted, connect the USB cable and turn on the printer. Installation should complete automatically.

Do not reconnect the USB cable until the point in the printer driver installation where you are prompted to check that the unit is on and connected to the computer.

In most cases the printer driver software can have errors while being in use or is shut down. So to reset remove your printer from the PC and uninstall the printer software. Now reinstall the printer software and then connect the Printer to be detected as a new hardware as it will be installed. Now check the printer properties to see the ink levels.
Activate head cleaning before a test is taken . Sometimes it is possible that the head is not reacting to the need of the PC command or can be an issue with ink drying or
poor ink cartridge contacts. Sometimes the power supply unit must be checked as a poor SMPS unit can deliver low voltage and cause issues to the printer function. Check all the leads and connections of the mother board , the tags to the ink cartridge. Also check the mechanical settings of the ink cartridge , if jammed or tight remove motor and manually free the drive before it is set back.

Can you alter a scanned document or do you require additional software


You need OCR (Optical Character Recognition) software to turn the scanned picture back to editable text form.

Sometimes a limited version of such software is included in the software bundle delivered with the scanner.

From my experience, the best software of that sort is FineReader - it has the best accuracy and hence needs the least corrections, sometimes none, as compared to other products.

I do not know how to scan


Put the documents that you want to scan on the top of your scanner glass, if you already installed the driver sofware of your printer to your computer, you shouldnt have any problems, just connect the USB cable that came with your printer, and press the Scan button on your printer and that should do it.

Scanner bulb doesn't turn on during a scan


You can try to get and replace the scanner light. If it was the light, the new one will work. If it was some other electonic component that shut off the light, then the light won't work. Depends on the cost of a new light compared to getting the unit serviced by a tech. Or the cost of a new Multifunction unit. Do some research before you make the decision.

Just cracked it, had same prob...printer would print but wouldn't scan
lost original CD...tryed epson downloads but not the older versions...
i needed the 2.6 version
