Question about Kenmore 73502 / 73504 / 73509 Bottom Freezer Refrigerator
I have a Kenmore (model beginning with 596). For the past several days it has mode a noise every two or three minutes that lasts for 10 seconds, then shuts off again. I thought nothing of it, but this morning I noticed everything in the freezer was thawed, and the fridge section is not very cool either. Any suggestions? Help?
The repair person came and in my case it was a start capacitator connected to the compressor. When he replaced the start capacitator the compressor came on immediately and started working. The charge $ 240 (Flat Rate) for the fix. The repair person told me its a universal start capacitator which I found online for $29. Worth trying to fix yourself before paying $240 if your a handy person.

There are a number of things that can be at fault but the onlt thing you can try is check and see if the condensor under the fridge behind the front kick plate is plugged with dust . this neads to be cleaned at liest four time a year depending on how dusty its getting . also enshure the fan that circulates air around this condensor can be heard running with the compressor. short of all this you should have it looked at by you local repairman. use the recomended woranty repairman only. hope i was of help . post feadback thanks
