Buzzing sound There is a loud buzzing sound the whole time the dishwasher is running. Dishes come out clean and it goes through all the wash cycles.

It sounds like most of the noise is coming from the bottom of the dishwasher. Isn't the control/timer module located in the upper part of the door?

A loud buzzing sound it is probably a faulty control/timer module.

If the appliance works the same, you can keep it like this, if it still under guaranty, call the number listed on the owner manual to get repair.

If you got the sound only recently, that means that the control is going to fail soon, in that case call a repairman and have the control assembly replaced.

You find diagrams and parts here,
    just enter the model number.

I have an kenmore elite "ultra wash" model 665. not sure the rest.. about 7/8 years old, making loud buzzing sound during wash cycles, starts about 5 minutes into the normal wash cycle. i removed the inlet...

I have the same problem as those who stated their dishes are not getting clean. If you listen to the wash cycle you should hear water sloshing around inside. If you hear just a humming sound the washer has no water. I have this problem. I had a tech come and he told me the water is syphoning out my drain and I need to change my plumbing, then he charged me $65. I have lived in this house for ten years. 6 with the washer that came with house and 4 with this Kenmore Elite. This problem started about 6 months ago. So what I have been doing is opening the door, after the humming starts and the sloshing stops, and adding about 2 L of water. It seems to wash just fine after that.

Buzzing Sound at Base of Unit does not go away

If everything is working as it should - the problem may be with the motor.
Either the starter is starting to fail, or it may have gotten wet. Check for leaks around the base, and be prepared to eventually replace the motor.
If you can deal with the humming, there is no reason to replace it at this time, and there is nothing you can do to quiet the noise.

    Thanks for using FixYa!

Our Frigidaire Ultra Quiet II dishwasher loud buzzing noise- wash

    No longer "ultra quiet" huh?

A sound during certain cycles indicates a broken part. By the information provided sounds like a pump may be the problem. You may need to contact a service tech about this issue. If the appliance still under warranty, the service should be provided for free.

Every time when you hear noises (other than the normal ones) in the appliance, it indicates there is something wrong and it will worsen over time, so as soon you hear something is not ok, get assistance.

Makes a loud buzzing noise when running, think it is coming from the lower spray arm

My dishwasher (very basic GE model) did this once. The buzzing only happened when it was washing the dishes, not during drain or fill parts of the cycle.

In my case, the issue turned out to be a bit of plastic (part of a drinking straw) that was stuck in the pump assembly. Whenever the pump was on, this bit of plastic was getting dragged over a metal filter plate, and sounded a lot like a kid with a card clipped in the spokes of a bike.

Good news was that I didn't need to buy any parts, simply disassemble the pump housing and pull out the plastic.

Bad news is that it took me a few hours to get the dishwasher out, apart, back together and re-installed.

    Good luck with yours!

    Loud Buzzing Sound from Dishwasher

have you ever seen green led "Clean" light flashing? before or about the same time the buzzing sound started? and if so that would indicate that the control senses a fault in the temperature rise during the heating cycle and that the electronic control could be reset by initiating a service diagnostic cycle.(which is what you were trying to do) pls reread your manual there are times during that sequence that some buttons have to be pushed at the same time and within a certain amount of time..possible that your machine also has a bad timer which would give you a buzzing noise..if thats the case I would recommend replacing the cpu or control board..or the machin all together..The Kenmore Ultra Wash Quiet Guard name is sears but whirpool has the contract to produce all "kenmore products.hope that helps.

    Loud Buzzing noise

Sounds like something may have got past your filter and is touching the main pump impeller eg piece of broken glass or piece of plastic.I,ve even seen a spoon touching the impeller. You may have to take the bottom off the machine and remove the pump if you can,t see anything under the filter,Hope this helps. Regards Stefan.

    Buzzing noise and won't clean

An aging water-inlet valve can sometimes fail slowly, rather than all at once. It can shudder on and off rapidly, causing the incoming water lines to shake, rumble, and rattle--sometimes violently. If yours is doing this, replace the inlet valve.or may be its due to
Heater fanIf the heater fan bearings are rusted or worn, they may squeal, or scrape loudly during the drying cycle. If this is the problem, replace the fan motor. Alternatively, the fan blade may be loose. If so, you need to replace it.
