Linsar LCD tv type L26HDF1-S has intermitent loss of picture, audio remains OK. Backlight still Ok. Blue screen in Aux Mode 4-S an 5. Turning off and then on brings back picture most times, but not always. Will be OK for 30 minutes or 10 hours dependent on its mood! All remote buttons work Ok for channel changes etc, with or without picture. Cant see any dry joints or iffy capacitors anywhere

That looks like a problem with the LCD ribbon cable, or the connector to LCD display.

More than a problem with dry joints (modern pcbs have rarely this kind of problems) it can be a problem with the flat ribbon cable connecting to the LCD display.

You need to take apart the tv and check the LCD cable and its connector.

If you are not sure about what you are doing, or if the unit is under guaranty (less than one year old), then call the number listed on the owner manual to get assistance.

No picture on lcd tv.. What parts do I need to replace to fix the picture?

Hi John,
From what you have described, it seems that the tv is going in protection after 5 secs.
Though the backlight is there, but are you sure that all the cfls are glowing.
If one of the cfls is not working, the set will go off in the same manner.
If this is the case, disconnect the defective cfl and solder a 4700mf/2000v capacitor in its place. If this works, you either keep the set running like this or replace the defective cfl.
Otherwise, If all the cfls are ok and working, your inverter card if suspected to be defective.
Good luck

No picture

Sounds like you have a backlight problem. To verify this, turn on the set, dim the lights in the room, and shine a bright flashlight on the screen. If you see a faint picture you have a backlight fault. It could be as simple as a bad capacitor in the power supply, or a faulty inverter board, or in rare cases a bad backlamp.

Blank screen with blue light

Hello
Check the backlight inverter board to your TV. This is a common fault for most of the LCD TVs. If it is faulty, the backlight won't light up, resulting a balck screen with sound.
This is the picture of the backlight inverter board to your TV. OK.12_23_2011_4_29_45_am.jpg

Philips 50pf9631d/10 Audio ok but no picture

Bad power supply or backlight inverter.

If the backlight is not turning on, you should be able to see the lcd image by shining a bright flashlight at the screen.

Backlight inverters are loud, so you can hear them operating (high pitched whine) and if the backlight is coming on, you can see white light leaking around the edge of the screen, and even a little inside the cabinet.

Philips are legendary for having power supplies that fail due to bad capacitors, so that could be the culprit as well.

Picture goes dark on different sections of screen intermitently then its ok for a while

Intermittent backlight lamps or backlight inverters.

If this model has an auto-dimming feature, try disabling that feature.

Samsung 32 lcd tv backlight off after 4 sec. audio ok

If your TV is staying on and you hear audio after the picture goes dark, then you have a problem with a CCFL or the inverter circuitry that drives them.

Most likely an inverter problem.

Like a bad xformer (usually fogged up plastic wrapper)

Or a bad cap (bulged, swollen, cracked)

Or maybe a shorted IC or transistor (test for short circuit between the different pins of the device)

I would suspect overheating of an electric component in the power supply of the lamp (backlight) of your lcd tv. bring it in for repairs.

Tv showing blue screen with flyback lines sound ok

Flyback lines? Is the picture all white with no brightness control with faint horizontal faint lines? If this is what you are saying, the screen voltage could be bad, and if thats the case, the picture tube or the flyback itself could be bad. You could also have a bad connection on the crt socket
