Press the clear button. If it has already heated up it will need to cool down before the door lock will release it is a safety feature so you don't burn your eyebrows off!. Hope that helps.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Locked door on my GE Profile Oven (Range)

Amazing. I've searched across the web, and this "locked door" problem appears to be a DESIGN FLAW across the entire product line: if you run the self-cleaning cycle, it WILL trigger this problem and despite the suggestion of a wide range of "self-help" strategies, the only real solution is to pay for a service call (and then, it appears, paying for a new control unit and probably an additional service call to have it installed, and then more service calls if the same problem occurs). We have a JGB900BEF2BB GE Profile range, and of course we've run through all the self-help suggestions at geappliances.com and on a dozen other web sites like this one.

How do I stop and open door in the self cleaning?I have a hugh mess in the oven I clean the extra stuff on the bottom what happens if it starts fire and I can not shut off and open the door.

Large spots should be cleaned BEFORE starting self clean..The self clean can not be "paused" and continued..It has to be shut down and re started..

Self clean not stopping

you will need to turn the breaker off and turn it back on (kinda trying to "reboot" ) if that doesnt help the control will need to be replaced. in that situation it would be good to replace the oven temperature probe as well.

Message says "unlock door", but the door is already unlocked.

redo the self clean, something got stuck... also, dont use the selfclean again, use easy off overnight, self cleaning sucks and uses lots of $$$$$$$.

Alarm sounds as F7 appears when oven is about 90 minutes into self clean

you may need to replace the main control..
F7 stuck keypad
Stuck keypad may mean relay is turned on.
Determine if problem is with the Key Panel or Control by:
1. Pushing CLEAR/OFF pad.
2. Disconnecting Ribbon Cable from control and waiting at least 32 seconds to see if Code recurs

If code recurs, problem is in the control. Replace control.

If code does not recur, problem is with the Key Panel.
