Thinkpad T30 no video no post no beeps

Hello. My t30 died on me yesterday. It will not show video on the display, and will not send any beep codes. checked all connections on the board, tested the board with a multimeter. The fan spins, the lights come on except for the busy light. Can I fix this myself? Thanks for the help in advance!

I also have several T30 2366 that do not display on onboard LCD screen. Used Function F7 to toggle between LCD, External & Both. External displays BIOS perfectly on the External & Both. Seems to be a faint backlight. Tried a different inverter board, but cannot prove that it ok (yet). Reseated inverter board and main plugin under keyboard with no difference.

Any help with this problem would really be appreciated!

My thinkpad makes 1 beep followed by 3 more other beeps. Nothing shows up on the screen

I'm fairly sure this means there is some error in connecting with the screen, maybe a cable worked loose maybe the screen is dead, or maybe screen inverter or backlight dead.

My IBM thinkpad t30 beeps 8 times at me when i go to turn it on and will not start up what is that

Video memory error. The BIOS cannot write to the frame buffer memory on the video card. Since the frame buffer memory is on the video board's memory chips then you will have to replace the entire board.

4 beeps after powering on

Is this one long and three short beeps recycling 4 times? If this is the case it's the video circuitry on the mother board going bad.

T30, replaced fan, no boot, no beeps

Did you replace the fan because of a no start problem, or something else?

IBM Thinkpad T30 2367 beeps 8 times

Hi,
It's your memory, or more to the point, the memory slots. take all memory out, install 1 piece in the slot closest to the back of the laptop, push down on the memory as if pushing it into the motherboard, and hold pressure while booting.
Bet that works. if not, let me know.
I've got the same machine.
Good luck

Laptop problem

1 long beep + 2 short beeps during a POST (Power-On Self Test) for a IBM ThinkPad stands for System board, video adapter or LCD assembly failure.

Start up problems

Normally 3 beeps then 1 is a checksum error, which is related to memory size/types and/or timings being reported as an error in the bios. Try also running in safe mode (F8) on start up and see if you get the beeps; because being able to start it up with an external monitor may mean that the memory error is related to amount that is used for your integrated graphics or a graphics driver error.
