Hello. My t30 died on me yesterday. It will not show video on the display, and will not send any beep codes. checked all connections on the board, tested the board with a multimeter. The fan spins, the lights come on except for the busy light. Can I fix this myself? Thanks for the help in advance!

Video memory error. The BIOS cannot write to the frame buffer memory on the video card. Since the frame buffer memory is on the video board's memory chips then you will have to replace the entire board.
It's your memory, or more to the point, the memory slots. take all memory out, install 1 piece in the slot closest to the back of the laptop, push down on the memory as if pushing it into the motherboard, and hold pressure while booting.
Bet that works. if not, let me know.
I've got the same machine.
Normally 3 beeps then 1 is a checksum error, which is related to memory size/types and/or timings being reported as an error in the bios.
Try also running in safe mode (F8) on start up and see if you get the beeps; because being able to start it up with an external monitor may mean that the memory error is related to amount that is used for your integrated graphics or a graphics driver error.
