SOURCE: i cannot install my new
Have you checked in Device Manager to see if there are any conflicts? If not, check your Printers folder and see what is listed. If the HP is there, delete it, reboot your machine and see if you can reinstall the driver. Let me know how it goes.

In the past when I have seen this on my old printers, it is the color cartridge. Eithe the haed is cloged or it needs to be replaced. You could try to take the color cartridge and set the print head(copper colored end) on a damp towel for a little while and see if it will release the clog. (HP uses mostly water base inks and they dry out sometimes) Then wipe the head on a dry cloth. Reinstall and try again. You should also have software for HP to prime the head and clean it. Try that and if you still have problem, replace color cartridge.

Had a similar problem " with my L7590 allin one unit, "scanner did not function" from the Solution center. If your unit is plugged into a surge protector, unplug the unit from the surge protector and plug directly into the wall power socket. It solved my problem. Can you believe this. The explanation is that the printer goes into sleep mode it reduces the amount of power needed for its uses and the internal surge protector of the unit notes this; however, when you "wake the printer up" the difference in power usage between the two levels may be considered by the surge protector as a power surge and limit or halt the increase, disabling certain functions. Officejet Pro L7500 is giving me error message that it can see the black and yellow print head I have replaced it and it is still giving me the same error.
Is there a way to clean it with out having to have it taken in to be repaired?

Try the following: first start the installation until the error rises - don't continue. Then change to the "normal" printer installation through system/printers/add printer There install a local printer at "HP Standard TCP/IP Port" ("Standard TCP/IP Port" works too), fill in the ip, choose HP and your printer - it now should be listet due to the interrupted installation - finish this installation. The printer is now ready. At last terminate the waiting (exe)installation by taskmanager - don't let it finish cause it tries to deinstall the printer again. Regards Erik Nagel
