CAN IT BE REPAIRED/or CAN I PURCHASE NEW SCREEN
OTHERWISE IT IS A PERFECTLY GOOD PLAYER

I cant see on the screen properly anymore, but i can hear perfectly fine.


Unless an expensive unit just replace it---anything under 200 would not even be worth having fixed (a lot of them the connections/cable in the screen to main unit break)

Screen is broken I need to purchase a new one


It's probably not sensible from a cost standpoint; check on the price of an LCD screen of the size in your player. I think you will find the cost of the display plus installation will be higher than the cost of a new player.
BTW, when you are asking for help, always give the brand and model number, otherwise posting the question is futile.

I turned on the dvd player and them the screen came on and then immediately the screen went black and I cannot get the dvd player back. It is fully charges and I also tried to play using the dvd player...


This can be a faulty backlight bulb in the screen but more likely the screen inverter has developed a fault, replacing the inverter would probaly cure it or check the connections to the inverter for a dry joint and possibly reflowing the solder may also do it.
If your not sure what the inverter is then I would throw the player away and get a new one.

I know this isn't what you want to hear, but the problem you've described can't be fixed with troubleshooting. Your DVD player needs to be repaired. There is a part that has developed a defect and needs to be replaced. The problem is Memorex doesn't repair their DVD players, they simply replace them when a customer has a warranty claim. If your player is no longer in warranty (the warranty is 90 days from the date of purchase) please call the above number to see if your model qualifies for any out of warranty options. Getting the player repaired locally would cost far more than what you paid for it, and that's if someone could repair it without any replacement parts from Memorex.
