Take it back where you bought it from (Asda?) and get a refund. Then buy a better make - Durabrand are notoriously unreliable.:(

Sounds like your aerial's at fault move to another place with a good aerial to check if still faulty then tv's tuners faulty.

Durabrand pdv 702 won's play all disks. will play recorded and some orginal but not all

If it only fails on home made discs the problem lies in how they were burnt.

Set up problem

Does this Durabrand combo player actually have an RF output? Almost every unit I've seen today only has audio/video out. No RF out, no tuner for recording. They're meant to work with the TV's AV inputs and some line input source for recording (if it's a recorder at all). There may just be no RF for you to be tuning to.

If the player does in fact have RF out and you can't see it on either channel 3 or 4, take it back to the retailer if you can or contact the service number in the manual. It would have to be a defective unit.

VCR DVD Combi DMR-ES3OV

I had this code (f09) on my Panasonic DVD VHS recorder. After seeing that it meant overload I took the cover off to look for burnt out components. I found that an electrolytic capacitor had bulged (look up capacitor plague on wikipedia). I replaced the capacitor with one of a similar value from an old power supply and it worked fine.
