Question about Denon AVR 2808Ci Receiver
Hi! this is my first purchase of any kind of amp. I purchased Denon AVR 2808Ci in USA and moved into India and conected it will stepdown voltage covertor 220 v to 110 v (100watts). But with out any connection I tried to powere on the amp and to my suprise I could see that only the power (green light) but I couldnt see any display in the front display panel. I would like to know that is the front panel display shows only if I make all the connection or its a defect amp I got.
Think i got ur problem. you have mentioned that you used a stepdown voltage covertor 220 v to 110 v (100watts). But Denon 2808CI model which you bought from U.S needs 110V (500watts peak power). so try running the amp with a 220V to 110V (500watts or more) and im sure it will work.

Your unit was probably damaged in shipping. Denon is a nice unit! Do you hear any clicks when you hit the power button??? You should hear two relay clicks. You should hear the power relay click at power on and 3 to 5 seconds later you should hear the speaker protection relay click if your audio amp section is ok. If you hear both relays click then your display circuit is at fault. Open the unit and look for breaks on the front pcb (behind the display) and on the main board in the power section ( where the fuses are ).
