The capability to access the Internet is commonly referred to as GPRS, 1x/CDMA and/or 3G.
The settings for accessing the Internet (APN, username, password) vary from mobile operator to mobile operator. If your mobile phone is not currently configured for it (e.g for downloading games, ringtones, surfing the internet from your mobile browser...):
1. have your phone's manufacturer and model name ready 2. contact your mobile operator to request the Internet access settings 3. you should get the settings sent to your phone in an SMS message 4. save these settings as your default settings
In case you have all the information for the settings but you need/want to manually configure your phone, the instructions for doing it depend on the manufacturer and model name of your phone.
Phone manufacturers often help either in configuring your phone by sending you an SMS, or in publishing the instructions to be followed for manual configuration. Visit your mobile phone manufacturer's web site to see how they can help you:
If your phone is a Windows Mobile device, follow these steps to configure your device to access the Internet:
1. enter the Start menu 2. select Settings 3. open the Connection tab 4. select Connection 5. open the Advanced tab 6. select Select Network, then New 7. select Cellular Line (GPRS, 3G) 8. enter the data specific to your operator

when you reset your phone all the setting will come back to initial settings including internet option.so please call your network provider to send the settings again. after you receive your setting configure it. after that you wil be able to connect to internet
I believe you should firstly configurate your wifi connection with the wireless router, and after testing your connection (using your internet explorer for example) you will not receive any connection problems while configuring you gmail account.
Get to the control panel. Choose network & internet connection - network connections - create a new connection (a box will open) - connect to the internet - set up my connection manually - connect using a broadband connection that requires a username and password and then follow further prompts...You should see the mobile internet icon on network connections or at your desktop (shortcut). If this doesn't help, refer to your phone service provider or its user manual. Hope this helps...
you just have to go to->Menu->Tools->Options->Connections. In Connections uncheck the AUTOMATICALLY DETECT SETTINGS option and select the Work option in SELECT NETWORK. Click done and now you are supposed to be able to connect to the Internet via WiFi
After browsing a lot of sites and experimenting with the settings finally I was able to configure my HTC P3400i with Vodafone Live support without any help from the Vodafone customer care (who were very bad and rude when I called them for getting the setting). The settings is working fine for me in Bangalore. Hope this helps all who bought this phone and struggling for getting the GPRS setting for HTC P3400i.
