Question about PC Desktops

I have an Acer 5315. It turns on and boots up, with the battery light and the power indicator light are both on, however the screen remains blank. I believe that the resolution of the screen has been dropped down to minimum, with the contrast now remaining black. I nee to know how to fix this problem, or if there is a number for Australia I can call for technical support.

You may using recovery disk and perform re installation of graphic drivers. However if you have Acer warranty please seek their advice first.

I would suspect a PSU, how old is the machine? Check the CMOS battery, reseat the Memory mods.

If the machine is OLD, check if it has a backup battery that might be depleted. Beyond that I would suspect the power supply may have a problem with the power-on-reset circuit.

My ACER aspire 5315 was purchased in may 08 apears to have no power and will not boot up - battery apears to have failed even when it is connected to the mains power.


try removing the battery, connecting it to main power and see if it then boots. that usually works for me; if so, then replace the battery.

Computer beeps and screen is blank


The computer beeps when some components are missing. Check all the connections.

Please try to press F8 at the boot, and choose Safe mode. You will see then if it is the hard drive the problem.

If you have more information after the T180 for the model number, can you indicate it please. You might have to update the BIOS.

We can try some work around to narrow down the issue.

I think your notebook might be getting power from the Ac adapter. The remaining power in the battery might be giving power for few seconds and trning OFF again.

To check this, once remove the battery from the notebook and turn on the laptop with only AC adapter.

If there is no power at all, then what I guess is correct. Issue might be with the AC adapter or with the power jack on the motherboard.

If the notebook turns ON even with the Ac adapter and turned off aftetr few seconds without battery, then you have to contact service center as it could be the hardware issue.

When I switch on my Acer Aspire 5315 notebook nothing happens at all - it doesn't seem to boot and the screen is blank.


try to refresh all the part of your unit..3 times then back it again..if not work,,,
post it again...

Black screen on start up


yep

unplug the system
open the case
look for a battery and take it out
take out the memory (rams)
wait ten minutes
press power button 5 times
put everything back in

and boot it
