Question about PC Desktops

1 Answer

I am a professional musician who uses Midi Files as backing. I recently had to buy a new laptop to play the files, and bought an ACER Aspire 5920. I have an external Creative Sound Blaster Soundcard. If I play the g=files through my PC External speakers all is fine, but if I put it through my amplifiers, I get terrible electronic sounds. I have tried just connecting from the audio out socket of thye laptop and the same thing happens. Any thoughts

You need a filter. Go to SB and see what is available it could be just a patch you need or an inline filter.

How resstore my acer aspire to factory settings?

There should have been a recovery disk created or included when you bought a laptop. Insert disk if you have it and restart your computer with the recovery disk in the CD drive. Make sure all your documents and personal data are backed up. When the computer restarts it should start restoring your computer to the factory default. There will be a wizard to guide you through the process. If there is not a disk, then follow this steps:
1.Save any files or folders on your Acer Aspire One with flash drives. Drag and drop files onto the icon of your flash drive.
2.Go to "Start" > "Restart" to reboot your netbook.
3.Hold down "Alt" and "F10" when you see the Acer logo on the screen. The recovery menu will load.
4.Hit "Enter" and then "Next" to see your recovery options. Choose "Factory Restore" to set your netbook back to factory settings. Follow the instructions on the screen.
5.Choose your time zone and language when the customization menu appears. Reboot the netbook when you are prompted.
6.Restore your saved files from the flash drive.

hope this helps,Goodluck..

This Acer Aspire 5920 was given to me as a gift from a family member, there are many things installed on this system. Basically, i guess i want to go through the add/remove programs to see which i need and...

You could try google each item, it will tell you what it is.
Just do not remove system drivers / dislay and audio drivers.
You can remove most acer software, acer is one of the worst for installing un needed rubbish.
If you are not too short on space, it may be wise to leave well alone till you learn a little more about what you use.
You could also do a factory reset if you have the disc, or you may have the files needed on the hard drive. Check in start / programs / accessories / system tools, look for recovery options

Acer Aspire 5920 problem

Your best play is to restore the machine to the factory settings. To do this, power up the machine and immediately press ALT+F10. From there you will enter Acer eRecovery Management which will give you the option of returning the machine to the factory settings.

WARNING:
This will erase everything you had stored on the machine!! ie data files, pictures etc...

Having problem loading pictures from our sd card onto our acer aspire 5920-6313 laptop we did it once and now cann't

Well, you've described the problem so well I'm just going to tell you to use a file manager to copy the files over and delete them off the SD card once you're pleased.

Otherwise, If you don't remember what photo management tool you used, perhaps you need to go through them by roster, Picasa2 through whatever camera maker's application you likely used.
