Question about Washing Machines
I opened the door of my washing machine tonight and my clothes were wrapped up in the gray colored seal between the door opening and the basket. When I unwrapped everything the gay colored seal was twisted and a then metal ring the size of the drum came out too.. My washer is just over a yr and i forgot to get warranty. Is this fixable? It looks like I can just put it back, but where does that metal ring go lol? Thanks in advance
The rubber boot is called the "door bellow". The following link explains how to replace one:
If the bellow is not ripped or torn, you probably will NOT have to replace it. If the front bellow clamp (wire hoop) is the only thing that came loose, you will need to reseat the bellow around the door frame opening and reinsert the bellow clamp. The link explains this in Step 12 (I suggest you use a second set of hands to assist you). Now...if the bellow is torn, or if the clamp is damaged, you will need replacment parts. Let me know if you require additional assistance. I hope this helps you.
