Problem for LG RC199H DVD Recorder / VCR Combo
Dubbing VHS to DVD
I record VHS to DVD dubbing but I can't play the recorded DVD only on the same DVD player I used to record, on any other. please help. thanks.

- Same problem. I use Magnavox to play and dub to DVD. Some recorded DVD-R disc will read to other players - some will not. All discs have been finalized, and all will read to play on the Magnavox. It's very frustrating. If I insert the disc again and re-finalize, I get a message that it cannot be done. I'm wasting a lot of DVDs and a lot of time. HELP! - searcyJan 03, 2009

You have to go into the Home menu and select setup. At the bottom left there should be an icon that looks like a dvd disc. Select that and then go to finalize and select that to finalize the disc. After that is complete it should play on any dvd player. I had this problem and I got through to LG's customer service line and had them talk me through it. After I finalized the disc, it worked.
