I see the songs on my pc screen (drive D: ipod), I can't find them on my ipod

My itunes software shows my ipod songs on my pc. but when I use the ipod to play the songs, they're not on my ipod. Its confusing to copy or send to my ipod, I get the message that its already on my ipod; when I disconnect the cable, I can't see it on my ipod.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Mariam

Thanks for your suggestions. I tried this, but it still isn't working. The itunes software shows the songs are on my ipod. When I go to my ipod, they're not there. When I click and drag to my ipod, I get the message that it already exists, do I want to replace it? I say yes, and the same results happen. I don't know where the problem exists,,,my pc, the ipod, the software or me!!!!!!

Make sure the boxes to the left of your songs are checked. When you sync your ipod, they should be on there.

I hope this helps. Please rate my solution.

The best way to do it is to create a playlist in Itunes, then sync the playlist to you Ipod.

Another way to copy a song is to select it from the library with your mouse. Then drag it to your ipod by holding down on the left mouse button while moving the mouse over to your ipod in itunes.

UNABLE TO GET MUSIC FROM MY IPOD TO MY COMPUTER

If you purchased all of the songs through itunes store, please follow these steps:
1. Open up Itunes and Click on Itunes Store
2. Once you're in the Itunes Store look to right side of the screen and you should see the word "purchased". Click purchased and you'll be sent to a purchase screen.
3. Click on "All Songs" and then it will show all the songs you've downloaded. From there you just hit the button that looks like a cloud with an arrow on it, and it will download all the songs all over again.

If you didn't purchase them through Itunes, then you'll have to download software that will strip the songs from your iPod onto your computer. And here is a step by step guide show you how to do that, hope it helps.

Ipod nano

Hi.

Please do try changing the USB access option from ur nano / ipod

When the access type is 'MSC', the files will be directly accessible to ur PC as a separate drive

Go to settings/Setup -> USB

(I've encountered similar problems with sansa, and this solves it)

This way, u can delete and add files as u wish

bye

take care

Did I solve ur problem?

Ipod 120 classic backs up only 231 songs

Sometimes it is easiest to start over. In the case of the popular iPod, clearing the hard drive is the easiest way to remove the files and restore the drive. The process is rather basic using the Apple iTunes software. Once your 120 GB iPod is restored, you can quickly sync all of your songs saved on your computer back onto the iPod. Properly complete the restoration process and enjoy your revitalized iPod.
Open the iTunes application on your computer. If you do not yet have the iTunes application, you can download it from Apple's website for free. From there you can easily download and install it. Open the folders on your computer which contain your saved music files and drag and drop them into iTunes. If prompted to convert to M4a, select "Convert." Connect your 120GB iPod to the computer using the provided USB cable. Click the "Restore" button on the main screen in iTunes, then click "Restore" a second time once prompted to initiate the restore process. Click the "Next" option, then "OK" once the restoration is complete. Your music will no longer be on your iPod, but will remain in your iTunes library. Click the "Sync" button on the bottom left side of the iTunes screen to sync the music library with the iPod.

How to download music to i pod?

So how do I download music to my Ipod?

Downloading music from your hard-drive to you Ipod is done with the program called Itunes. This program comes with your Ipod purchase or can be downloaded at http://www.apple.com. The software is vital because it not only allows you to purchase from the popular Itunes music service, it's also the only way you can transfer songs onto your Ipod.

So let's look into the Itunes software, and more specifically, the Itunes library that is used to transfer songs from your hard-drive to your Ipod. You'll find it on the left hand panel of the program. Your library contains all your songs, movies, and podcast that you want to transfer over. Through the Itunes library, you'll be able to use their drag-and-drop feature for easy and fast transfer to your Ipod.

Before we move one to the next step, it should be made clear that songs that are downloaded from P2P clients might not show up on the Itunes library. You must add them manually, because you will not be able to transfer any songs until they are integrated into your Itunes library. Doing this is simple. Click on file>add file to library, locate the file you want to add, and press enter to complete the process. There is also the 'add folder to library' function which allows you to transfer a whole folder of songs into the Itunes library. This is quite handy to have if most of your songs are stored in one place on your hard drive.

Alright, let's get back on track here. You know the proper steps in which to keep your Itunes library updated now, and the last step is a breeze. Plug in your Ipod to the USB port in your computer, and you'll notice the new option to add songs from your Itunes library to the Ipod. Click and drag your files into the Ipod transfer screen and then you're done! You're now ready to explore the wonderful world of music without the burden of a large cumbersome computer to haul alongside you!

Download iTunes for free from this site:

Once installed, you can drag and drop songs from your PC onto your iPod Nano, or you can add songs from a CD to your Nano.

The following video shows you how to load songs through the iTunes software.

While charging ipod on pc songs are no longer on IPOD

When your iPod is connected and brings up itunes, make sure that you have selected the songs you want from the library where they should be saved and dragged them into your playlist folder (located on the left side of the itunes screen). Then disconnect properly using the eject button, also on the left side of the itunes screen.
