Question about Car Audio & Video
I see a CALL display muting the system although I haven't hooked up any telephone device to the system. Its been really annoying. I got myself a brand new car (and the Kenwood player as an accessory) just about 10 days ago. Is there a way I can disable the damn thing? Or better does one know what can be done to fix it (or rather what causes it)?
To my knowledge, some Kenwood head units have a wire specifically for this purpose, to mute the stereo in the event of an incoming mobile call. This would be the brown wire. Normally when not connected to a mobile phone, this wire is shielded/covered. It it was inadvertently exposed and touches any metal part, then it would enable the muting. If the wire is covered and not grounding, then an internal fault exists and most likely the trigger inside where the brown wire leads to.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
