Computer not recognizing mp3 player

I plug it in ..and nothing happens other than the mp3 player charging itself.
it might be because I don't have the right things downloaded on my computer? but I'm not sure! any advice would be great.

You need the cd or the software that you could get from the company site or www.download.com

Memorex MMP8002 my player will not start and does not recognize my computer connect it to my computer and restart any and from there not light nor my computer recognizes

does the player switch on at all? does it have a replacable battery, if not leave it plugged into a charger or computer for an hour to see if it puts any charge into it, and if the mp3 player has software then install it but only if you can get it to switch on. if nothing happens after doing all that then the player either has a faulty internal battery or the player itself is faulty.

Have you attempted to re-install it to your computer. It sounds as if the driver has been corrupted.

Coby 610 MP3 not powering up or being recognized when plugged in

The same thing happened to me. Have you tried resetting it? Open up a paperclip and poke it in the back hole. The mp3 should reset. If this doesn't work, you are going to have to reformat it, although I did not have to do that so I don't know how.

2 problems with my coby mp3 player

I have the same problem just bought the thing yesterday and it won't charge I downloaded music yesterday and charged it, now it isn't recognized by the computer.

Went thru the whole troubleshooting chart and nothing happened, I did email techsupport but haven't heard anything. I guess I'll take the thing back and get it replaced.

Wont charge

it is the battery. you have to buy a new one and put it by your self or ask help. and eventhough it is a new battery dont wait for the battery to die to charge it will show - effect.
