Pressure switch I have a fault code for a open pressure switch. Do I just change the switch or can there be another problem

I have the same model furnace with the same problem. Sometimes it cycles normally but then its next cycle shuts down prematurely with a "pressure switch stuck open" fault.

I replaced the pressure switch last week and the new one did the same thing. Then I discovered the cause by accident. With the breaker shut off I was poking around the wiring looking for loose connections. I noticed that the wiring harness plugged into the control board was not supported in any way. I have considerable electrical/electronics experience and one thing I know is that you never hang anything from plugs or connectors. Playing my hunch I tied off the harness so it wasn't hanging from the plug any more and now the furnace works normally. Apparently the weight of the harness hanging from the connector has damaged its connections on the control board. I'll probably have to replace it eventually but for now the problem is solved. I suspect this poor design feature may be connected with Goodman furnaces being notorious for control board failures.

Go ahead and change, or have changed the pressure switch.  they're not too terribly expensive and they are real easy to put in.  we have them in stock and can ship it out on monday.  we'll need the full model number of your unit to make sure to get the correct one priced for you.  you can send a request to our office via our parts website at:  http://hstrial-cseagraves1.intuitwebsites.com/hvacpartsnet.html

IE - Water level sensor fault This fault code is fairly self-explanatory and tells you that the washing machine has detected an error with the pressure sensor or pressure switch
  • Check water level sensor
  • Check wiring to water pressure sensor
  • Check connections to water level sensor
  • Check main electronic controller

My washer is displaying the code F35 I can not open it, I can't turn it off, it won't change.

F35 is a water level error.
The water level switch (pressure switch) has malfunctioned.

If you remove the top panel, three screws in the back, you will have access to the pressure switch.

With the tub empty, remove the vinyl hose from the switch and blow backwards through the hose to clear any restrictions.

If the fault codes return after doing this, you will likely need to replace the pressure switch.

Also - please be sure to use He soap.

    What this code is p-1784

    P1784-LR PRESSURE SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT
This is a transmission fault code. Diagnosing it will require the DRB3 scan tool, or equivalent aftermarket scanner, and the transmission simulator tool.
    ---------------
Remove the VB(valve body) and the solenoid pack is easy to change and a shift kit comes with a non stick switch valve. In most of the cases is faulty solenoid pack causing this eror code. But there are other possibilities to.

    P1784-LR PRESSURE SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT

When Monitored: Whenever the engine is running.

Set Condition: The appropriate code is set if one of the pressure switches are open or closed at the wrong time in a given gear.

LR Pressure Switch is always in "Open" position. Must be closed at Park, Rev and Neutral.
Could anyone explain to me how the switch works. Is this the solenoid pack or the LR Pressure issue? The L/R pressure switch should be closed in P/N only. The switch should open when put into REV if the trans is not in limp-in mode. All switches will stay CLOSED if the trans is in limp-in mode. Disconnect the trans 8-way connector at the solenoid pack. Key on scanner hooked up apply 12 volts to the L/R pressure switch pin in the 8-way connector and watch for the switch to change from open to closed. If it does change the SSV may be stuck in the TCC position. You will have to remove the valvebody and inspect the solenoid switch valve to know for sure. The pressure switch itself is in the solenoid pack. If you have an old solenoid pack changing it is easier and quicker than inspecting the valvebody. Perform your diag for fault P1784. I believe the pressure switch is also closed in 1st gear also. Hope this helps.

MANY THINGS WILL CAUSE NO DRIVE PROBLEMS.IF TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL CORRECT LEVEL AND TRANSMISSION FILTER BEEN CHANGED.SINCE TRANSMISSION PCM CONTROLLED SCAN FOR FOR TRANSMISSION FLUID PRESSURE SWITCH CODE.OR TRANSMISSION PRESSURE CONTROL SOLENOID FAULT CODE.LOOK FOR SHIFT SOLENOIDS FAULT CODES.LOOK FOR TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE FAULT CODE AND TRANSMISSION RANGE SWITCH FAULT CODE.IF NO CODES COME UP.YOU HAVE TRANSMISSION INTERNAL MECHANICAL FAILURE LIKE FORWARD CLUTCH AND INPUT CLUTCH HAS WORN DRIVE PLATES AND LEAKING PISTON SEALS.FAULTY TRANSMISSION OIL PUMP.HAVE TRANSMISSION PRESSURE TESTED.

Would replacing the egr valve fix the other faults such as egr solenoid fault, egr pressure sensor fault and egr positionsensor fault

The EGR valve can be tested with a Vacuum pump. If the diaphragm is bad, the valve will not change positions. Hence the error Code for the position sensor not opening to allow the valve to work. And the error code for the pressure sensor not registering a change in pressure because the EGR valve did not work.

So both sensors can give a false Code. On the other hand, you will see both sensors have Vacuum lines and electric connections. When the electricity is switched on, vacuum is suppose to flow back to the EGR Valve. That is why the first thing you do is test the EGR Valve to see if the diaphragm is broke.

If the EGR valve holds pressure it should be okay. Then you would want to check for pressure in the lines coming off of the switches. Remember to clear the onboard computer each time you replace a part, or you will get 25-35 Startups worth of false information.

Both Autozone and Oreillys will scan or clear your car for free. I hope you find my solution very helpful. You usually don't have a complete failure of all 3 parts at the same time.

I have a 2004 caravan with p0846 and shifts erractic

Trouble code P0846 means: A/T 2-4 Pressure Switch Circuit Malfunction

2/4 pressure is incorrect, or internal transmission faults exist 2/4 pressure switch circuit is open, shorted to ground or power 2/4 pressure switch is damaged or it has failed TCM relay power circuit to L/R switch is open (loss of B+) PCM/TCM has failed

This possible causes are to be checked to confirm the fault.Thats it. Thanks.
