Reboot, when you see an F button option for entering setup take it. find and choose start in safe mode and let it load and run. Click Start>right click my computer>properties>hardware tab>device manager>monitors>choose your monitor/uninstall/reboot/hit that F button to enter setup>choose Normal startup.

NUMBER LOCK
You have press the NumLk key (number lock) and this changes the right hand keys to a number pad.
Press the NumLk key (also doubles as the ScrLk key to toggle the Number lock). it is near the F12 function key. When the NumLk has been enabled a LED light is turn on to indicate this function has been selected. Press the NumLk key again to turn off the Number Lock and Num Lock LED indicator.

Where is the Number key lock on my new hp laptop?? I can't get my router to work

usually if the computer do not have a num lock neat the numbers in the left corner ..I mean if you only have numbers on top of the letters this means that the numbers are always on ...and if you need to change to the upper symbols use the shift key above the ctrl and Fn key ...If you do not have the numbers always on under the letters it means that you used the fn key and changed the functions of the keys or some kinda odd virus did that and in this case a reinstall will fix it ..but I dont this this is the case...
If you have Numbers in the right side like a full size keyboard..than the num LK will be on top of them if you only have numbers on top of the letters than the numbers are always on and the shift will change to the symbols

Numbers appear w7hen i type certain words 7how do i solve t7his

Hi,

You probably have the Num Lock on. The letters affected by the Num Lock are u, i, o,j,k,k,l,m.

The Num Lock should be located at the top right of the keyboard and is usually in blue letters although with some keyboards its lettered white. Hit the Num Lock key and that should resolve the issue for you.

Regards.

Some keys giving double letters cant enter password for windows

Good morning! possible that some of the keys (/letters) terminal point of your keyboard were locked/stucked-up during your cleaning. I suggest to use another keyboard then check the status of the keyboard if it is working properly thru Device Manager. best regards

I dont know anything about cap locks i have to get a new password every time i log in to facebook and i dont know why they keep rejecting my password HELP

Caps lock is that key on the left side of your keyboard. When pressed, it makes all letters that are typed in into uppercase letters. For example; without caps lock pressed: "pressure". With caps lock pressed: "PRESSURE". If it mentions something about passwords being "case sensitive," this means that an uppercase letter A (A) is recognized differently than a lowercase letter A (a). Since you can't see your password being typed, it is important to make sure caps lock is not pressed. If this becomes too complicated, open up MS Word, notepad, or wordpad and type your password there so you can see it, then copy and paste the password into the password space on facebook. Good luck with that.

I need help with my key board. When I use the letter key the number comes up. Such as I push J and get 1 I push K and get 2 . How do I get back to using yhe letter. Thanks Marion

Marion, I imagine this is on your laptop? You need to turn off Number Lock. On Toshiba Laptops, I am pretty sure you hold down the "FN" key and the hit F11. That should turn off your Number Lock. If you look closely at your keyboard, you will see that J corresponds with 1 and K corresponds with 2 and so on.

Hope this helps! Let me know!

Still cannot get my computer to change from numbers pad to letters on my laptop Wwilsworld@AOL.COM

Your PC appears to be stuck in "Num Lock" mode. Depending on your model, you should be able to toggle this mode with the "Num Lock" key. Once it is out of this mode, the letters keys should work.

My labtop computers right side keyboard stays on the calculater numbers. I cannot get it back to letters.

Sometimes the <FN> and an F-key will lock and un-lock numbers, sometimes, as in my dell's case there is a <num lk> key next to the F12.
