you can download and Install Twain driver for this model and you can scan from Any Image Editor like photoshop and Acrobat PDF editor download link http://www3.canon-asia.com/downloads/drivers/dr/DR1210C/DR-1210C%20Driver1.1.zip
check first to see if ur scanner is compatible with ur windows operating system if is the next thing i would suggest in uninstalling the software the reinstalling the software.
Uninstal all the software for the scanner. Install the correct ISIS?TWAIN Drivers from the following link. http://software.canon-europe.com/products/0010336.asp. Install CapturePerfect.
(Incase you did not know, the ISIS/TWAIN Driver is to connect the Computer to the scanner and CapturePerfect is purely 'Scanning Software', just to facilitate easy scanning.)
