Hello,
try too fine a battery container which can hold your batteries and contact it too the camera by the external power plug.
It's an solution if you don't find a battery door.
You may also use a car battery of 6 volt by this system.

My wife`s Kodak Easyshare V1253 has to be reset (date and time) every time we replace the battery. What could the problem be? Also, it takes too long to take one picture from another (probably setting...

Regarding the date and time, Actually its normal everytime you removed the battery you need to reset the date its is because the camera doesnt have a internal or built-in battery that can run the internal clock or maintain the date settings.,

Regarding the taking picture that will take time, it is because your using a too high mega pixel of the camera, Higher mega pixel will have a bigger file size and it will take to process the picture. the best thing you can do is to lower the Mega pixel or the picture size make it atleast 5MP or 6MP., I can guarantee to you you will have a great picture outcome and lessen the time of processing picture.

By the way you can lower the mega pixel (picture size)by pressing the menu button of your camera

What are the main features of DiMAGE A2?

It has succeeded from A1's concepts, "Providing the more enhanced image quality," "Reducing the mis-recording," "Not limiting its users or scenes" and "Providing the unexpected satisfaction, pleasure and impression" from the DiMAGE A1. Compared with A1, it is the all-in-one type digital camera achieving not only the still image but the high quality of viewfinder and movie. - 2/3 type interlace scanning CCD with primary color filter and 8 million pixels - VGA-size with a high precision EVF (922,000 pixels) is loaded to check the focus more easily. Compared with A1's EVF, about four times the high precision display is enabled (A1: 235,000 pixels). - Depth-of-field preview - Movie recording function of 544x408 size with 30fps - USB 2.0 support (high speed mode) which can transmit large data in high speed - PictBridge support Furthermore, 3D AF to track the movement and keep focus on the subject and anti-shake compensation functions inherited from A1 are also loaded.
