How do I get my hp1350 to self clean?

It was acting as if out of ink. I changed cartridges but still same

My ink cartridges are new and full but I get an error reading that ink is low. wont print in color or black ink. very very light. not printing


Does the printer software allow you to self clean the cartridges? Remove the cartridges and wipe them clean with a damp cloth or tissue, replace them back into printer and select self cleaning.

Have changed all cartridges on epson nx400. test shows 3 ink cartridges printing, except for the black ink. have run clean head utility, ink has charged. downloaded and installed printer driver. Found an...

The ink reservoir doesnt have to be completely empty to fail. Replace the cartridges. Some of the jets or all of them may be clogged especially if you have not used your printer in a while. If there are cleaning instructions in the manual clean the jets and then try to print from the printer's self test

My printer won't print anything - only blank pages. However, both ink cartridges have ink. Please help!


If the self-cleaning cycle does not solve the problem, try turning the printer off overnight to allow the ink to soften. Turn the printer on the next day and try printing a test pattern to see whether the problem has either disappeared or become less noticeable. This ink-saving procedure can work effectively because sometimes the dried ink on the print head needs time to soften before the printer head can be cleaned completely. Try running the self-cleaning utility again one or more times.
Steps for Manually Cleaning the Printer Head

If the overnight cleaning still does not work, there may be a layer of thick ink that is blocking the holes of the printer's head. The next option is to manually clean the printer head. Follow these steps:

* Determine from the owner's manual where the print head is located.
* Remove the ink cartridge from your printer and then dip a cotton swab in hot water or isopropyl alcohol and rub it against the print head. This should loosen any crusted ink. NOTE: Be careful, especially if you use isopropyl alcohol to clean your print heads: Some printers use rubber gaskets, and if you get isopropyl alcohol on the gaskets it could dry them out.
* For models where the print head is in the printer, drop 7 to 10 drops of isopropyl alcohol (91% denatured isopropyl alcohol - not 'rubbing' alcohol) down the ink receptacle area where the ink actually flows from the cartridge into the head. Run a few self-cleaning utilities. If possible, allow the printer to sit a few hours or overnight and repeat the self-cleaning utility.
* If the print head is in the cartridge, soak the cartridge print head in hot water. Allow it to soak overnight. Dry the print head area with a paper towel. Repeat the self-cleaning utility.
* If the hot water soak did not unclog the print head, place the cartridge printer head in isopropyl alcohol and allow it to soak overnight. Use a damp paper towel to wipe off the print head area and dry carefully. Try the self-cleaning utility again.
* If the alcohol soak did not unclog the print head in the cartridge you may need to purchase a new cartridge. This will provide new print heads that won't be clogged. Contact a service technician for repair of print heads in the printer if the alcohol did not unclog the printer head.

Black Horizontal lines

Horizontal white lines usually indicate the ink cartridge is running out of ink or has some clogged ink nozzles. Try the following steps:
  1. Some of the ink cartridge ink nozzles may be clogged with dry ink. Use the ink cartridge cleaning service to try to clear them. Follow the steps below:
    1. check if there is plain white paper in the Input tray.
    2. Press Setup .
    3. Press < or >to select Tools and then press OK .
    4. Press < or > to select Clean Print Cartridge and then press OK . The unit prints a test page.
    5. Examine the test page. If the print quality of the page is good, stop here. If the print quality appears to be getting better, run the Clean Print Cartridge utility again
  2. If the self test appears better, Increase the copy quality setting (Normal or Best) and try copying again. If the quality is still poor, continue to the next step.
  3. If the quality is still poor, one or more of the cartridges may be low on ink or empty. Follow the steps below to check the ink levels.
    1. Open HP Solution Center .
    2. Click Settings .
    3. Click Print Settings .
    4. Click Printer Toolbox .
    5. Click the Estimated Ink Levels tab.
    6. Replace any ink cartridge that is low on ink.
  4. If the ink levels are not low, clean the cartridge face and electrical contacts at the back of the print carriage.
    1. Open the front of the unit to access the ink cartridges.
    2. After the ink cartridges are at the center, unplug the power cord from the back of the unit, and remove the ink cartridges. The power cord must be removed to ensure that the unit is not damaged during the cleaning process.

White lines in print--looks like pinstripes


I asked the technician at Staples what he thought and he thought it was the ink cartridge. since I was using 3in1 cartridges and it was expensive to buy two; (1) Black with pale magenta and blue plus (2)red blue and yellow,we bought a new printer that uses one colour only cartidges so we can replace one colour at a time and also use a pale blue and pale magenta to get better reproductions. for a little more than double the price we bought an Hp printer Photosmart C7280 on sale with single cartridges. It will pay off, They are a fraction of the cost of 3in1 colours.

your printer is a psc hp1350 ink jet printer . you can only use the the inkjet paper for your printer. If your paper is 8.5x 11 inkjet compatible you can use that to your printer

Printer problem with 6210 all in one.


Try to print a self test page from the printer itself, do these:
  1. Press and hold the Cancel and the Color buttons at the same time.
  2. Release both buttons.
  3. The Self Test Report will be printed.
and check if it is the same output, if yes then follow the steps below:
  1. Some of the ink cartridge ink nozzles may be clogged with dry ink. Use the ink cartridge cleaning service to try to clear them. Follow the steps below:
  2. Verify that there is plain white paper in the Input tray.
  3. Press Setup .
  4. Press c00712200.gif or c00712201.gif to select Tools and then press OK .
  5. Press c00712200.gif or c00712201.gif to select Clean Print Cartridge and then press OK . The unit prints a test page.
  6. Examine the test page. If the print quality of the page is good, stop here. If the print quality appears to be getting better, run the Clean Print Cartridge utility again

This can be caused by debris on the scanner glass or white reference pad. Try the following steps: 1. Turn off the HP all-in-one product and unplug the power cord. 2. Open the document cover to access the scanner glass. 3. Using a non abrasive glass cleaner, thoroughly clean the scanner/copier glass, and white lid backing on the inside of the top cover. CAUTION: Spray the cleaner onto the cloth. Never spray fluids directly onto the HP all-in-one product. 4. Plug in the power cord and turn on the HP all-in-one.
