Question about Norcent Technologies LT-2022 20 in. EDTV-Ready LCD Television

1 Answer

I have no sound on channel 2. All other channels the sound works fine. There are no audio cables going to it. Just straight cable. Even moved it to another room to see it would make a difference. And it does the same thing.

Hello mwrobinson19,

Check to see if SAP (Second Audio Program) is turned on. Having SAP on can often cause this problem. You will have to go to the audio settings from the menu and select to turn SAP off.

I hope this helps,

Thank you,

I just bought the BenQ pq4242 LCD TV. I got it out of the box and WOW,,no cable connector in the back of the TV. How can I connect it? I will not buy an extra cable/coverter box to add to my brand new...

Hi, Actually Your OK. Not to Worry. BenQ is known for making good equipment. The configuration I give you will be an upgrade to the single cable coming from the box.
How do you solve the problem? There may have been other cables supplied with your set that
will connect to your box. If there is an RCA cable with 3 sections. Yellow Red and White. They go from the cable box straight into the set. Yellow is composite Video Signal without sound. Connect it to the Yellow output on the Box to the Yellow Input on the BenQ. The Red goes to the Right Channel Audio Output of the Cable box to the Right Channel Audio Input (also Red) on the Back of the BenQ. Finally the White Connector goes to the Left Channel Audio Output of the Box to the White Left Channel Audio Input on the BenQ. You will probably have a choice of "Video One or Video Two. I think Two should work with your configuration. When turning on the set set the input to whichever section 1 or 2 or 3 sometimes. And Everything should come up fine.
THIS IS BETTER QUALITY THAN YOU HAD BEFORE.
The set you now have is full High Definition. So if your box is unable to receive High Definition, you are missing out on HDTV. If you get a BluRay Disk Play, such as a Samsung or Sony (I recommend Samsung for reliability), You will be Thrilled with the Video Image. Your BenQ also has decent speaker outputs to connect bigger speakers.
I hope this has been a help.
Have a Happy New Year,
Best, Mark

I have a VIZIO LED/LCD VF551XVT hooked up to a motorola HD DVR with a HDMI cable. When I switch from standard Def to High Def channels I lose the sound. If I turn the TV off/on the sound returns but if I...

I have the same set, same problem with one of my MOTOROLA boxes, but not with another. I have a SONY TV that works fine with this new MOTO box, but the new VIZIO does not. The audio is coming through the HDMI cable just fine, and the fact that it works when you cycle power on your TV means it's the SYNC between the TV and the BOX. I have the identical problem and am taking back the MOTO box for another one. I spoke to VIZIO for about 45 minutes trying different things. They think it's the MOTOROLA box, COX (my cable company) thinks it's this particular box, who knows.

My Sharp Flat Panel Television LC19SB25U has Picture but No Audio

Sharp has had a few problems with their audio boards, not finding any bulletins on this model, but a few complaining about low audio on amazon reviews section. If using an antenna you will experience some channels with low audio. If using cable you should get good sound on all channels..
the 9.1 and 9.2 are digital channels and sharp does display them for at least a few seconds when you switch to that channel. Check all your setting in the audio to Stereo never SAP. To options for you are get a cable box, first check in the back and see if there is another coax in, if there are two try both rescanning after connecting.

Cable company switched to digital and the audio quit working for channels under 100 - former analog channels. channels 100+ work fine. when I switch to dtv, I get the "no signal" message.

If you are using HDMI with the cable companies cable box, you may have to go into the
cable box menue and set the audio out as HDMI. I had a similar problem with my cable providers box.
Hope this helps,

Low volume on LG HDTV

I encountered the same thing using the HDMI interface on my new TWC cable box (Motorola DCX-3200). After a little bit of research, I finally fixed it by changing the digital audio mode in the cable box using this procedure:

1. Be sure the TV is on and connected to the cable box.
2. Using the cable box remote turn power OFF.
3. Immediately press the MENU key on the remote. The USER SETTINGS menu should appear on the TV screen.
4. Select the ADDITIONAL HDMI SETTINGS >>> menu item.
5. The ADDITIONAL HDMI SETTINGS menu will appear.
6. Scroll to the AUDIO OUTPUT item and select this.
7. Change the setting from AUTO to L-PCM.
8. Return to the main page
9. Using the remote, cycle power OFF.
10. When the cable box is turned on again, you should be good to go.

I realize these instructions are specific to the DCX-3200, but there may be a similar setup option available in your cable box as well.

The problem here is that the cable box is by default configured to use Dolby Digital audio, which requires an additional 10dB of headroom to deal with the boosted LFE channel. If the cable operator hasn't taken pains to set the system up correctly (and most haven't, apparently), the digital audio level sent on the HDMI interface will be approximately 11dB down from normal analog line levels on the HDTV channels. Changing to straight linear PCM sets the TV receiver audio level on the HDTV channels to match the levels on the non-HD channels.

The only problem with this fix is that if you intend to feed a Home Theater receiver that uses Dolby Digital processing with the cable box output you will lose the Dolby encoding feature and be forced into straight 2-channel stereo. For a simple installation like mine where I'm just feeding the TV, this fix works fine. If you have a more complex setup that takes advantage of Dolby Digital features (when it's available in program material), you may have to live with the problem.

For a technical reference on why this happens, see http://www.megahz.com/specimages/Dolby/LM100%20Cable%20App%20Note%2011-05.pdf

Hope this is useful.
