Question about Kodak EASYSHARE 5500 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Printer won't respond to demands

I just got a easyshare 5300 and when I pluged it in, the screen reads " paper jam, clear jam press okay to continue. The thing is that there is no paper in the printer and the on and off button won't respond or any of the buttons and I have tried unplugging it and plugging it back in. I'm still getting the same message. I know That I have put everything in correctly.

Hi cmiller59,

This is a quite common issue. Try this, un-install printer and printer software. Reinstall software first before you connect any cables. After reinstalling software power down your computer. Connect all cables associated with your printer. Power on your system, windows will detect new hardware and the wizard will ask you what you want to do. Place installation cd in the cd drive and in the hardware wizard choose have disk and click next. I hope this helps, if not, hit me back, we have other options.

Thanks for using FixYa.com

Sincerely, cyyyd7

It says open door, clear carriage jam and then press okay to continue

This means you have a paper jammed inside of the printer, you need to open some of the access door to find and remove it. then you can press okay to continue printing.

Kadak Easy Share 5300 printer. Screen reads "Please wait"-stuck

Try this one
Take out the inks and printhead
Leave the cartridge door open, then unplug the power cord from the back of the printer while the access door is open
Close the cartridge door once the cord is unplugged
Reconnect the powercord, turn on the printer, then your printer will look for your printhead "Printhead missing or not installed correctly..."
Then put everything back. make sure it will snap in to place. Then print a calibration page, then scan it. This is just over writing the error message.

Paper jam

Paper jam means that the rotation of the roller is not smooth, either because you are not inserting the paper correctly or there is something stuck in the printer. What you have to do is open the back cover of the printer and check the roller and clean it. Then if still paper jam is there, then it's manufacturing problem. Contact manufacturers.

Printerjam

A paper jam error message will appear if the printhead is not correctly installed. Try removing and reinstalling the printhead again, but make sure it snaps into place. Try loading a sheet of plain paper and press at the same time copy+cancel; hold them down until the printer feeds the paper. The paper will go through the rollers and come out blank.
