Question about Technics SL-1210 Turntable
I could not submit this question with the correct "Product:" (Technics SL-B2) so put in Technics SL-1210 Turntable.
A neighbor just gave me their old Technics SL-B2 Frequency Generator Servo Automatic turntable which hadn't been used for years. After I attached it to my Sony receiver and plugged the electrical cord in I discovered there was no "ON" button. My neighbor said since it had been so long since they had used it he really couldn't remember how it started, but thought all you had to do was pick up the arm and move it towards the record. I tried that and nothing happened. They haven't been able to locate the manual, so it was probably thrown out. They never had any problems with it - it always worked fine. Do you have any suggestions or solutions. Thanks for your help. Elizabeth

There is no on-off switch.
The plugged in turn table turns onwhen you lift / move the arm.
I have one - still works after over 20 years.

You need a belt.. Lift up the record support..(platter) Underneath you will see a metal post.. Belt goes around that and the bottom of the plate.(there is a rim) . If the belt is there, motor might be bad..
