Type cpu to use

I have a ASUS A7V400-MX motherboard with a 1.66mhz cpu built in may 05. I want to change the cpu going with 3.0 dual core if i can. what cpu do you sugest? I burn a lot of cds and video editing. thanks

Memory upgarade


Yes, it will work. Remember that all memory will operate at the speed of the slowest memory though so unless you're completely replacing the memory it won't increase the speed of the memory.

The motherboard you listed supports AMD processors, (AMD Athlon XP/ Thoroughbred/Barton)not Pentium.

The further down you go the stronger the CPU.

Sorry but the Asus P5RD1-VM MB does not support any dual core CPU. Here is the Asus link showing supported CPU's.
