Reconfig 327w to work with Hawaiian Telecom DSL

I just moved from Pennsylvania where we had Verizon DSL to Hawaii. Can you help me reconfigure my wireless router (that I got from Verizon) to work with Hawaiian Telecom's DSL? The tech guy said that they use a routed bridge, not PPoe, and I changed that, but still can't connect, or I'm sent to the Https:/activate.verizon.net/launch/welcome page. Is there anywhere I can upload new software to delete the Verizon auto settings? I'm not a technological genius, but I can follow clear directions - can anyone help me??? 10Q

Well, that didn't work at all. I did, however, finally figure it out. Several calls to the tech guys/girls at Hawaiian telecom, they were VERY helpful. I was directed to tinyurl.com/htupgrade to download a firmware upgrade, matched it to my model # (pretty close) and voila! It is working great. The only other thing I had to do was to enter the WEP key for the wireless. I hope this info can at least help someone - it sure saved me a bunch of $$$

I have Verizon DSL service on my Westell 327w. It

whenever the connection drops, is the DSL light blinking?
because, it is just normal for the E1 light to blink, but the DSL light should be solid at all times.

It can be a possible issue with the cable or the LAN card, but you still need to have your line checked by Verizon to make sure that it is not a modem or a network issue.

How to configure Westell VersaLink 327W to work with ATT internet

I bought one of these wireless routers a while back and found that these can work well with At&t simply by logging into the router (192.168.1.1), creating an account with your At&t user ID and password, and enabling PPPoE with the VCI set to 8 and the VPI set to 35. Worked well for me for about two years now. Hope this helps

Switching DSL Modems

Your dsl line stays the same. you're only changing your dsl equipment.

if you are not able to go online using the 327w, you might need to have it configured depending on the type of connection that you have. if you are using PPPoE (which means you enter a username and password on the modem to connect to verizon) you need your 327w configured for pppoe. but if you are using DHCP connection, any modem or routers should be plug and play.

Most verizon customers from the west coast uses DHCP while those on the east coast uses PPPoE.

You can call tech support to make sure which type of connection you are using.

I using the linksys 150n router on my desktop in the basement of my house, I have a verizon dsl supplied external modem westell 327w in the office that's working fine. how do i get 150n to work?

  • The router needs to be configured with the settings required by your ISP which is Verizon.
  • The modem should be connected to the Internet port of your router.
  • Verify with Verizon if you're connection is DHCP or PPPoE. If it is PPPoE then you should have a username and password from Verizon.
Please update me about this to assist you further with the installation of your router.

upgraded the latest firmware in the router, reset your router and reconfigure it, check if your dsl modem is configured in a bridge mode if not configure your modem in bridge mode and reconfig your links router accordingly, that will fix your problem
