Question about GE Refrigerators

1 Answer

Hi Guys, I have a GE Profile Frig: PSF26NGTDBB Serial # SL416129 This AM the softdrinks seemed a little warmer than usual. We checked the digital temperature inside the frig compartment and the freezer was at 4 degrees instead of 0 and the frig side was 42, normally 37 degrees. WE pushed the Turbo Cool button and the green led light came on. We left and came back an hour later and the Turbo Cool led was off. Please help...Sunny

GE TFX22P Refrigerator Evaporator Fan

Fun run as long as the compressor runs and you do not need to worry about it. the only thing you need to verify are the temperatures in the refrigerator and and freezer compartment: below 40-F, and below 0-F
if temp ok, do not wory about it.

I have a GE Profile PSW26PSW. I bought it new in

If the condensor is dirty, the frig will have to work like the dickens to to stay cool. The condensor coils are either under the unit, or on the back. the newer units tuck them neately under the unit and a good toilet brush, degreasser soap, like "Dawn" works great. If she still is heading south, My first guess would be the compressor, or the thermostat. Try the Condenser coil cleaning first. Lloyd

Temp set at 5(as always) but food in the refrigerator is freeezing. Ice maker and water distpenser do now work. just started happening.

Try unclogging the drain line for the freezer. What seems to be happening is your refrigerator is working too hard to keep the temperature that it reads inaccuately. Usually a light defrost will do the trick , sometimes a longer defrost or one using warmers...don't be too tempted to use anything like a hair dryer for safety reasons.

Make sure you keep your frig door closed and use the frozen food in the frig to hold temps down.

Good luck.

GE Profile temperature going up and down

One of four problems,

1: this box has two sensors in the freezer... one on the top of the evap and one on the bottom left side of freezer cabinet (little small round white things) in the back lower portion of the freezer. These have been know to go bad and cause this problem.

2: you have a defrost problem caused by a bad main board or bad defrost heater.

3: you have a evap fan going bad on you, quits when frig gets to right temps. in other words the fan doesn't like the extreme colds,

4: door gaskets are leaking air around doors.

GE Profile side by side freezing everything

thats what you need its not that hard to put together
thats the kit that allows air into the fridge and its allowing too much, before you order this  go to the back of the fridge and take off the silver panel  with about 10 screws take off the control board take off the wires and it has clips on each corner of the board get needle nose pliers and squeeze the white plastic that extends out of the clips and pull the board towards you got to do that for all 4 corners once you do that check on the back of the board for black smudges and burning smell if there is significant black smudge or burning smell you need to oder that but im 97% sure you need the inlet assembly
its located in the middle upper part of your fridge
