Magicard is, in my opinion, some of that most unsophisticated crap that
really gives the creative art of magic a bad name.

HOWEVER... if you are any good, you can probably get it to work for you...
you NEED to be a funny guy... REALLY a funny guy, it won't get you laughs by
itself.

the effects are as follows... (it looks vaguely like a regular credit
card...)

1) you can chuck it up in the air and it "transforms" into a card...not of
your choice, so you have to force a card. This looks pretty good, but if
you can't force a card, you are stuck, and if you can, there's a whole world
of exciting and dynamic things to do... like learn to load people's clothes.

2) it has an expiry date "10 89" one way or another, in some
mathematical way, you can force this... can't remember how, but it involves
9s...

3) The card holder's name is "your name". Imagine what fun you can have...
"your name is on the card..." I couldn't contain myself the first time i
saw that. (This is the reason I object to the trick... it was being sold on
the basis that you can say that their name was on the card.)

4) There's an animal and a country on it that you can force... I can't
remember that either... I think it's
"think of an animal beginning with 'E'", think of a country beginning with
"N"... think of a colour beginning with "G"...
in any case, there's a grey elephant from Norway on it...

5) I can't remember the 5th one, but I am sure it's utterly hilarious.

Sounds like a performance problem rather than a problem with the
effect. I, shamelessly, performed this effect for an audiance of two
hundred individuals as late as last week and in all my times working
through the math I have never had a "blurt". Don't get me wrong, this
effect is not always suited for a large audience, but as a quick break
to wake up and otherwise stimulate the audienc (especially after a
banquet), it can be a nice routine. Even if only 80% of the audience
is capable of following the math or other instructions to the very
end, the fact that people all around them were amazed at the outcome
is still impressive to most.

Regards.

I am not too keen on Magicard simply because several times when I performed
it, people would blurt out their thoughts (during the mathematical trick)
thus everyone discovers that the letter is forced.

The gags are interesting, but the trick itself isn't mindblowing. Better to
carry "Crazy Man's Handcuff's" in your wallet rather than this card.

Is it good? hmm depends on your expectations.

I refer to the Magicard as 3 gags and two tricks.
Of the five effects listed, only two are "real" magic effects. The
three gags are very humorous.
The magic effects are 1. a number/mathematical effect using the cards
expiration date. 10-89 (that number should look familiar to a LOT of
folks). and 2. the revelation of a selected card (forced). I don't use
the first effect much but I get great reactions from the second one. I
use the 3 gags as a "warm up" then do the real trick.

At $10 it is a good little prop that can be kept in your wallet. I vote
"thumbs up" on it.
