Question about Philips 28PW6006 28" TV
When i switch the tv on it comes on with foreign writing on the screen then after about 5 secs just turns back off again ?
I think the set is trying to tell you something, perhaps concerning the received signal standard.
Philips is a global company but TV standards aren't, so it may be letting you know that it cannot sync with the available signal.
If you have, or can borrow a digital camera, take a screen shot while the message is there. Most cameras have sufficient light sensitivity that you can leave the flash turned off since it will just produce glare and possibly obscure the message. You may have to try more than once but if you would like to know what the problem is, I can't think of any other way to capture it.
If you can trap the message, post it back here to this thread and I'll attempt to translate it; I have a fair amount of foreign language familiarity.
