Blank page feeding during print job

When I am printing a document, on the second and each subsequent page, the printer stops and the arrow light comes on. I have to press the arrow button, wait until it feeds a blank page and then it will print the next page. I have to do this after every single page except for the first. It prints fine and has no other problems.

Adjusting the paper size had no effect on the problem.

You have to clean the paper feeder rollers , lightly wet a piece of paper all the way across and about 2 or 3 in. from the bottom , feed it in the printer and tell the printer to print but hold the paper and don't let go ( this will clean the rubber grabbing wheels for the paper ) repeat this process several times or untill the paper feeds properly

You need to reset the printer preference and properties setting.

Also try the Reset of printer by powering off and replug into PC and then check it out.

Remove the cartridge and install them again (most of the cases solved after this)

Let me know if the problem still persists.

If the printer ejects the paper, try one of the following solutions:
● Move the printer away from direct sunlight. The printer might have been placed in
direct sunlight, which can affect the Automatic Paper-Type Sensor.
● Select a paper type other than Automatic.
● If you are performing a color calibration, install both the tri-color and the photo print
cartridges.
● If you are printing a borderless document and the Resume and Print Cartridge Status
lights are flashing, follow the borderless printing guidelines.
● Verify that the protective piece of plastic tape has been removed from the print
cartridges.
● If you are printing a borderless document and the Resume light and a Print Cartridge
Status light are flashing, you might be trying to print a borderless document with only
the black print cartridge installed. When printing a borderless document, always
have the tri-color print cartridge and a black or photo print cartridge installed.

Thats the problem of the gears in the printer.they are not getting set when you print multiple pages.

its not the problem in your printer it just needs the servicing.

and also check sometimes when you print a letter size document and the paper settings is set to A4 so the wrong paper size selecting also creates this problem.

please also check the printer by giving a printer test page.does the same problem comes.

What document you are trying to print?
If it is Excel or Word document you have created a second blank page, reopen the document and delete the second empty page.

Feeds a blank sheet of paper after every print job

check and see if your cursor goes to the next page after your last written one in your document. If so then backspace to your last written page so that the blank page disappears because having this page the computer takes it as part of the document but because there is nothing on it a blank page comes out.

Hi there,
It seems that " Print on both sides (Manually)" is selected in printing options., when you want to print any document Go to file Print > select printer and click properties and disable the Manual printing option in device settings.
You should be able to get printing without errors,
if the option is not checked then check for the default paper tray,
save the settings and reboot your laptop/desktop and restart printer as well so that settings should work properly and any given command gets clear from memory, If these all settings are ok, Uninstall the printer driver and download the latest version drivers from HP website and install see links below

Reading no paper paper tray is full

Instructions
  1. Check the display for an error message. If the display reads "Clearing paper from printer," the engine has detected a jam and is attempting to eject the jammed pages automatically. These pages will often be blank.
  2. Check the display for "Performing PRINT/STOP TEST" or "Performing SERVICE TEST." Either of these messages indicates that the printer is going through a test procedure that may eject blank pages.
  3. Reduce the amount of paper in the input tray if the printer is feeding multiple blank sheets at a time. The printer will pull extra pages through if the input tray is overfilled.
  4. Replace the paper in the input tray with the correct size if needed. If the 4600 printer detects the paper as an incorrect size for the print job, it may eject the paper without printing anything on it.
  5. Replace the ink cartridges if certain colors are blank on the page. Replace the black cartridge if printing a black text document that is coming out blank. The printer may attempt to print even if the ink level is low or empty, but will unable to print anything on the page, causing it to come out blank.
  6. Remove the sealing tape from newly installed cartridges. The tape covers the print heads and should be removed before installing the cartridges. If the tape is left on, it will prevent ink from getting on the pages as they print.
  7. Press the "Check mark" button on the control panel to enter the printer menu. Run a diagnostic so the printer can attempt to determine the cause of the blank pages printing. Press the up or down arrow to select "Diagnostics." Press the "Check mark" button. Press the "Down" arrow to highlight "PQ Troubleshooting." Press the "Check mark" button. The printer runs a diagnostic and returns to a ready state when done.

Not printing all labels

Do a calibration, this should fix the issue. Also make sure that the label stopper (silver peg on label holder) is pressed firmly against the labels. This will stop the labels from sliding around during a print, throwing off the calibration. Also check to make sure the sensors are free of any dust.

Printer feeds blank pages.

often in the Printer properties, there is a tickbox, to feed a blank sheet between print jobs. this is to assist in keeping print jobs seperated on busy printers.

Here is the way to change the setting on a single print job:
  1. Click the Start button
  2. Point to Settings
  3. Point to Printers (Windows 2000) or Printers and Faxes (Windows XP).
  4. Right-click the HP LaserJet driver you plan to use (2420)
  5. Click Properties .
  6. On the Advanced tab, uncheck Separator Page.
  7. Click OK to return to the Advanced tab.
  8. Click OK to save the settings.
Making the change a permanent thing For All print Jobs on this printer:
  1. Click the Start button.
  2. Point to Settings .
  3. Point to Printers (Windows 2000) or Printers and Faxes (Windows XP).
  4. Right-click the HP Printer you want to correct the settings to.
  5. Click Properties .
  6. On the Advanced tab, click Printing Defaults .
  7. Change any of the settings on the tabs. These settings become the defaults for the printer.
  8. Click OK to return to the Advanced tab.
  9. Click OK to save the settings and to close the printer driver.

The Paper light keeps flashing when theres paper in the printer

A few things could be happening here.

1. Clear the print queue, and if there are jobs that won't delete, reboot the computer.
2. Now clear the jobs on the printer (cancel job button) until the status light turns green.
3. Put a piece of paper in the manual feed tray on the front.
4. Print a test page.
If the test page prints to the paper in the manual feed tray, then it is set as the default tray. Go into the printer settings and change it to "auto" or tray 1. If the test page prints to tray 1, but the original document you tried to print (when it got stuck) still won't print, cancel the job. Now, again, put paper in the manual feed tray. Try to print the document again and if it pulls from there, go into page setup of your document and change the setting from "manual" to "auto" or tray 1. Clear the job again (if it's stuck) and you should be able to print again. Hope this helps. This is one of the most common solutions - it happens a lot, especially with documents that are emailed from other people and once they get stuck in the queue, nothing will print (except the test pages directly from the printer, like you describe).

HP IIIp prints extra blank pages

HI there make sure that the paper tray guides are fully against the paper also try sending the job through the manual feed to see if you get the same problem. If you do not then it maybe that the paper cassette separation pad is worn and will need replacing. If your model has no rubber pad at the front of the cassette then you will have a metal hold over one corner of the paper make sure that when the paper lifts that the paper sits under the silver (Dog Ear) as this acts as a separator.

Hope this helps
Thanks J
