Hi, I'm sorry to hear all that bad luck. Did you try to reset your device, wait a couple of minutes and then try to boot it again? Here's how you can try that:
You can completely power down your TomTom One by pressing the reset button on the bottom of the unit. This will not cause the device to lose any data (favourites, etc.) or settings.. You can then turn it back on by holding down the ON/OFF button for ~4 seconds. The navcore software will take longer to boot because it is a cold boot – nothing cached or already running in memory. Hope this helps.
The red cross means its been wiped usually. Connect it to your pc and go to my computer. Click on the tom tom logo and see what is on your device. The maps should be there in yellow folders. Copy and paste these in to a folder. Then reformat the device by right clicking on the logo and selecting fat 32. When done reset the device for 30 sec and connect back to your pc and install the latest version of tom tom home. You can then get all the fee updates, thhen go to add maps where you can put your maps back on from the folder you made
There is a tiny reset button on the back of the device where the mount goes. Its hard to spot so `go to the tom tom web site to get help with this if you can't spot it. Use a paper clip and press it in this recess hole for 30 seconds. This will reset the device and should work after that. make sure you back up your device and keep a paper clip in the car!
stevi at the back of your tom tom where your windscreen dock goes there is a small rubber bumper if you look to the right and down you will see the reset button it is a small hole above the dock socket. sandy
It is not easy to give you a proper answer. The only thing that I can suggest you is to check TomTom support site. If you use some non Toshiba external device or software the best solution is to check support or FAQ page of device manufacturer.
