The cd wont load in English?

Every time I try to add my printer to my computer it tells me that it refuses to open in English and would like me to pick another language to open the program.

Try to uninstall your existing X4270 printer driver from your computer. On your computer, go to Start menu > Programs > Lexmark X4200 Series folder > Tools > Uninstall. After the uninstall process, reboot pc when prompted.
Please visit the Lexmark website to download and re-install the Lexmark X4270 Printer Driver on your computer. Select your operating system > click on "FILTER" > click on the driver under Recommended Downloads > download and execute the file. Simply follow the instructions on your computer screen to complete the installation. Try to print again to verify that the installation is successful.

Hi,

See solution below:

1. Turn off the printer.
2. Press 'select' and turn on the printer. (select button should be pressed while turning it on)
3. press '-value+' to choose your language
4. press 'select' to save
5. press 'go' to return to ready mode.

SOURCE: change language from Spanish to English on printer

I hate to say it, but I don't think you can, as it states in the owner's manual of the c5500, "the menu indicators are given in english only" and "since the menu is likely to change based on destination or for other reason, it is not disclosed to the end user".

I'm thinking you may have a machine that was destined for a spanish speaking person or area.

go to the cannon website, click on support and put in your printer name. Download the software and drivers. You could be experiencing a faulty CD

WONT PLAY ANY CD, KEEPS ASKING TO LOAD DISC EVEN DISC IS IN.
Remove the CD and shut everything off (computer and the printer). Turn it all back on and after it is fully on (turn on the printer too if it needs to) then load the CD. If the CD runs automatically you should be on your way to success.

If the CD does not load automatically,go to Start in the lower left hand corner of the screen and select Computer or My Computer. Then see which symbol is the CD and double click it to open it.

Hopefully you will have it fixed once you get the CD working.

I emachine dvd rom/burner won't open how can i open it? but before it really do not play any dvd and then now it wont open.
If the door on your CD/DVD drive will not open when you push the eject button (on the front of the drive), Click on Start, My Computer, and Right Click on your CD/DVD drive. Then Click on Eject. If the door still refuses to open, you can insert a paper clip into the small hole on the faceplate of the drive and push it in until the door opens. If the door continues to refuse to open in the normal manner, you will have to replace the drive,

I recommend you use the Lexmark X5150 driver from the Lexmark website. But first, make sure there are no existing Lexmark X5150 driver on your computer. Go to the Start menu -> Programs -> Lexmark X5100 Series -> Tools -> Uninstall. Reboot pc when prompted.
To reinstall, click on this link Lexmark X5150 Drivers.
Select your operating system by clicking on printtech_45.jpg
Then click on FILTER.

Click on the Complete Driver under Recommended Downloads. Download, execute the file and follow the instructions on the software. NOTE: Use Vista driver in Windows 7.

hmmm!..simply go to the control panel and here is language and region icon....just click it and change the language that you want ( in this case english)....It may want XP cd ..just put the cd and it automatically change your prefferd language

Go to the lexmark website listed below and type in your model number. It should list the driver at the bottom of the page that loads. make sure to choose the right driver for your operation system.

XP refuses to restart after installing printer
It’s not uncommon for software to mess up during installation.
Or even have a bad CD. (Please make sure you're windows XP software is up to date, run windows update service).
Since you are able to get into windows, open control panel, open add/remove programs & uninstall the Lexmark printer software. After uninstall restart the PC. Power on the printer before windows loads. See if windows runs with the printer connected & powered on. Less Its driver software. Windows should see the printer & ask for the software. (If so, it may be corrupted software). Go to Lexmark for driver software & download it.

Try reinstalling using the online driver software for the X3550 printer. If it still stops you're windows, I would suggest replacing the USB cable. If replacing the cable does not help & windows does not load, there could be something wrong with the printer.
If this is a new printer you should contact Lexmark.

Lexmark will suggest all of the above. You'll be three steps ahead of support. Lastly, I have come across an issue from time to time installing printers software into Windows XP systems.
(It matters not the printer model). Windows was missing basic printer files needed to operate any given printer. The fix for those systems was a complete fresh install of windows. Its suggested to never use a copied windows CD. It matters.

Can't install new home printer (brother HL-2170W); have limited computer skills. Computer is HP Pavilion w. Win XP Home Edition. Old broken printer is HP LaserJet 1150, which I installed easily w. HP CD...
I wouldn't worry about turning the printer on and connecting it, that's just to avoid picking up generic drivers before you install the ones from the disk.

It's possible your installation CD is faulty. Follow these steps:

1) Download the latest drivers from the address below and install them.

2) Connect your printer with pc off and turn both the pc and printer on. Windows should automatically install the drivers. If not then open device manager and install from there.

Installing of Printer
I had the same problem and like you couldn't find the solution and was verrrrrrry frustrated. Last night I loaded Vista Service Pack 1 (RC1). THE PROBLEM IS NOW FIXED. If you aren't comfortable loading a "beta" version you will need to wait until the first quarter of 2008.
