It all started with an alignment issue of the carousel (which we resolved) followed by an Error 59.99. After dismantling and reinstalling the printer several times it now works perfectly: it calibrates, recognizes all color cartridges and even says "ready". However when we perform an engine test or print anythin or copy a document all pages return white. Could anyone help us with that? Thanks

Re: HP 2840 ready yet prints only a white page
Did you resolve this issue?
If not check that the Scanner bulb is lighting. If not check the cable from the scanner to the formatter and seated correctly. The scanner or the formatter board may be bad. If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it. Thanks, Joe

On the 2840,one reason why the carousel gets out of alignment is because non HP cartridges were used and they were leaking toner. The leaking toner gets into the carousel gears and causes them to jump a couple of teeth.
If you have a warranty HP will fix the problem under warranty repair. However, if you were using non HP cartridges you will be billed. If your problem is non aligned gears, you won't need parts. The gears will have to be aligned and vacuumed. It doesn't require dismantling the printer. If you do have to pay, it should only be an hour of labor.
Does it print good? If the printing is good, the carousel isn't out of alignment. Don't fix it if it isn't broke.
this is a typical problem.. this printer uses a carasol meaning that the toners are riding on a carasol there are 2 white gears that drive the carasol 1 on the right and one on the left. Half page fade is almost always a misaligned carousel! A Tech is needed or a service manual here is a link for the manual http://www.partshere.com/Models/Q3948A/CLJ_2820_Removal_replacement.pdf
look at figure 5-78 Removing the print-cartridge carousel you will see the white gears im talking about

E-label can’t be read or print cartridge is not properly installed.
Reinstall print cartridge.
Power cycle device.
If the problem is not solved, replace the cartridge.
The software CD-ROM that came with the HP Color LaserJet 2820/2830/2840 all-one includes an animated tutorial that shows how to replace the print cartridges.
Remove any media from the ADF, and then push the scanner-release button to open the scanner assembly.
Open the cartridge door.
Make sure that the correct print-cartridge slot is in the access position.
If the correct print-cartridge slot is not in the access position, close the top cover and the scanner assembly, and then press ROTATE CAROUSEL until the correct print-cartridge slot is in the correct position.
Pinch together the two large blue tabs on the first cartridge, and then lift the cartridge straight up to remove it from the carousel.
Remove the new print cartridge from its packaging, remove the orange cover from the print cartridge, and then pull the orange tab straight out to remove the sealing tape.
Squeeze the blue release levers on the print cartridge, holding it with the roller facing you. Lower the cartridge straight down into the carousel until it is firmly in place.
To replace another cartridge, close the top cover and the scanner assembly, press ROTATE CAROUSEL , and then repeat the previous steps.
If a black print cartridge was replaced, then the device prompts to have a cleaning page ran, unless the device page count is less than 100 pages.
Close the top cover, and then close the scanner assembly.
You have to disassemble the unit, remove the carousel assembly and align the small gears on top to the alignment marks on the big black gears. The white gears have 2 protrusions that stick out and they should be right on the alignment markers on the black gears. You can see the marking on the left black gear if you have the carousel rotated where the yellow is facing towards the front
