Question about Hoover Steam Vac Dual V w/ SpinScrub Vacuum

1 Answer

Hoover steam vac dual v makes humming noise and nothing else.

Used the vac to clean half the carpets in my bedroom and it started to make a slight noise so i shut it off and dumped the old water out and replaced the container and turned it back on and now all it does is make a low humming noise like it is froze up or something, so I cleaned out the brushes and filters/screens and washed everything and let it set for a moment then tried to start and it started with the normal sounds for about 5 seconds and went back to the humming again please offer some advice.

I got the same problem. The steamer is only 3 months old also. Just makes a humming noise when you turn it on. Also, when you tilt it back, the brushes do not spin.

It does release water though when you pull the trigger.

Is the overfill valve (the yellow thing) in the waste container stuck in the up/full position? Maybe it just needs to be rinses well to avoid it being stuck and shutting off the vacuum portion of the cleaner.

I have a Delonghi Multi Vac M31 and have never used the wet part...I would like to clean my carpet using the wet vacuum...can you please tell me how I can do this? Many thanks

A good place to start is the owner's manual. If you don't have one, you can google the make and model of your multi-vac to get another copy.

Most wet-vacs work off the same principle. Pre-vacuum the carpet to make sure there is not normal surface dirt and dust. Next Squirt on hot soapy water, scrub it in - then suck up the dirt and collect the dirty water.

So after vacuuming the area to be wet-vacuumed and you are lucky enough to have a separate reservoir on the wet-vac unit - add pre-mixed carpet cleaner into hot tap water (with carpet cleaner mixed into it by the ratios described on the carpet cleaner soap bottle) to the multi-vac water reservoir (from a quick look, the Delonghi doesn't have one) . With the settings for wet vac (per the owners manual), squeeze the trigger for applying the carpet cleaner. Typically, you will go slower than normal vacuuming. Give it a chance to soak in and dissolve/lift the grim and dirt. Come back slowly to pull the dirty water out of the carpet.

There are multi-wet vacs (like the M31) that don't have a reservoir for the carpet cleaner. In that case, you need to pre-mix a couple of gallons of carpet clean in a separate container or bucket. Next spray or sprinkle carpet cleaner onto/into the carpet. Try to scrub the cleaner into the carpet to really get at the dirt and lift it. Next is to vacuum up the wet stuff.

Some carpet cleaners do not contain an anti-foaming agent. I recommend you either add an anti-foaming agent or buy a carpet clean product that already contains it - otherwise, it tends to be a big mess that takes a lot more time.

I hope these tips help.

Water in henry hoover motor HVR 200A

Chris, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you've already guessed it. You need a new machine. Personally, if I were you, I'd check into the small shop vac's, type of vacuum. Craftsman has a good one that I've been using for, wow, more years than I can remember now. I had it a long time I know that. I actually picked up a spare one at a garage sale last summer and put it up on a shelf for one my old one finally bites the bullet, but so far, it's still going strong. The wet/dry vac's have a float system in them that actually plug the bottom of the air chamber where the vac draws it's air from, when the water gets too high in the tank. The motor starts to race faster than normal and that's the tipoff that it's full. Dump out the tank and go at it again. Better luck this time.

Try not to **** up any more water. Don't use until you can dry it out well. Hopefully you live in a warm climate so that will happen sooner than later.

You didn't give a model number so I'll tell you both methods. The F5xxx and F6xxx models have a cap at the top of the clean water tank that doubles as a measuring cup. The cap is about 3 inches in diameter. Fill the cap to the fill line with shampoo and dump it in the tank. Then fill the tank with hot (Not Boiling) water.
The F7xxx series has a 2 section tank. The large section is for hot (Not Boiling) water. The smaller section is for shampoo. Fill the smaller section with shampoo and the Steam Vac will mix the water and shampoo for you in the proper proportion.

Steam vac won't **** water

check to see if the recovery tank lid is on correctly. if this is not on, the machine will not **** up the dirty water from the carpet. all you will get is suction that is chopy when it comes up instead of more like a flow.

Ridgid 16.5 gallon motor running with no suction

When you use the shop vac for cleaning up water you must remove the filter.

The filter is for dust particles not for water
I would replace your filter and dump the water out from the shop vac, Also after each time you vacuum up water dump it out of shop vac.

I hope this helped you happy new year!

Bought house. Inherited shop/vac. A bit old, but

If you are going to use the wet vac to remove water, be sure to remove the bag inside the canister first. Also, some wet vacs have an internal float that has to be installed, but that may not be the case with yours.

My machine is a little more than a year old. I have used it about 5 times. It started leaking the third time I used it. The fourth time I took it out, the brushes would not spin (I did clean them and rinse them after use each time).
Now the engine screams and won't **** anything up. Do you have any suggestions? My last Hoover Steam Vac was great and lasted for 3 years! Hi,
I have a Hoover Dual V SteamVac F7425-900 that the brushes won't spin. The lint screen is clean & the brushes switch is in the on position.
It dispenses & sucks up the cleaning solution & water; just no brush action. Help

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. The only thing that I can recommend is that you may have a bad switch, some vacs may have a broken belt or the drive mechanism inside the Hoover Dual V SteamVac F7425-900 in or by the brush assm section and is need of repair. Please check the trouble shooting section of the owner’s manual if you’re needing help and to save money. If you don’t have one then contact the Hoover factory cust serv. So, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
